batfam potluck was so much fun last year, let’s do it again :) #batfampotluck if you wanna bring something. everyone’s invited; repeats, nonbats, and all :))
I don’t really headcanon any bats as great or awful cooks, they just can’t be bothered. jason pulls something elaborate once or twice a year and then goes back to Sustenance

am i the only one strangely fond of these two bonding?
i just didn’t expect them to interact but it makes so much sense?
they are both two brilliant, talented guys. one coming from a place of wealth and opportunities, the other familiar with death and destruction only. two sides of the same coin.
also, i kind of want someone more mature to be there for ekko.
both him and powder lost everyone when they were children. but while she had silco before (not a good father figure but still one) and now sevika, ekko had nobody.
he had to grow up fast and learn how to live on his own. he turned out into a good, strong, clever boy. he is a leader and a defender and he’s more than capable of taking care of himself by now.
but he is in fact so young still. his father figure died when he was just a kid and no one ever filled that hole.
so, to have jayce interact with him, sharing his knowledge with him and being humbled by ekko, who shows him the brutal reality the people from zaun are forced to live in is kind of heartwarming.
i don’t know, i am just a softie when it comes to mentor/mentee-father/son-older brother/younger brother dynamics and i’ll hold tightly onto every little moment lmao.
can’t wait to see more of these two :”)

Caitlyn unleashing the Gray back to the undercity and Vi justifying the decision to herself like it’s no big deal, the harm it will cause is a worthy trade for flushing Jinx out as if we, the audience, didn’t see Viktor deteriorate right in front of our eyes BECAUSE of prolonged exposure to that pollution as he grew up.
The people may adapt to the new air conditions sure
And them die from lung failure 10 years later

The Shuriman chanting from the song "Ashes and Blood" is one of the best lore tied songs in my opinion!
Translated, it means:
Beyond these walls, the storm's fury grows
Over land and sea, the storm's fury grows
But I have nothing to fear!
For the blue bird is with me
Which is a clear reference to the wind goddess/ wind spirit Janna Jinx was talking about in that very cave where she was battling Vi.
In LoL she's a deity that actually exists, she helps the citizens of Zaun, but especially children. In earlier lore, she was a Zaunite herself, a human girl who helped others, but was seen as a kind of saint (parallel to Arcane Viktor now? Who knows!)
Anyway, the lyrics can be interpreted as the following:
"Beyond these walls, the storm's fury grows / Over land and sea, the storm's fury grows" Janna is a protector, born from the prayers of those in desperate situations. For someone living in such a precarious state, the storm outside could symbolize the chaos, danger, or turmoil in the world, whether literal storms or the metaphorical struggles of life in Zaun or elsewhere. Despite this overwhelming fury, the speaker feels no fear because Janna, often depicted as a benevolent blue bird, is present to shield them.
This aligns with how Janna is worshiped in Zaun as a guardian spirit. The people in the harsh, industrialized, and often hazardous environment of Zaun look to her for safety. The "walls" in the lyrics could represent physical barriers, like the buildings in Zaun, or emotional barriers, a symbol of vulnerability. Yet, no matter how strong the storm outside, Janna’s presence provides reassurance and protection.
"But I have nothing to fear! / For the blue bird is with me" It's Janna herself. In this interpretation, the blue bird becomes not just a symbol of Janna’s watchfulness but also a representation of hope and faith. It embodies the idea that no matter how fierce the outside world becomes, the winds and Janna will always safeguard those who trust in her.
These lines mirror the hope and protection Janna brings. The blue bird, as a manifestation of her essence, reassures those in peril. To believers, the sight of a blue bird is a promise that they are not alone, and Janna’s winds will shield them from harm.
In official LoL lore, it says:
Seafarers might spot a bright blue bird just before a healthy tailwind billowed their sails. Others could swear they’d heard a whistling in the air right before a storm, as if to warn them of its approach. As word of these omens spread, sightings of the bird grew more common. Some even swore they had seen the bird transform into a woman. With tapered ears and flowing hair, this mysterious maiden was said to float above the water and direct the wind with a flick of her staff.
It's great how Arcane built parallels between Jinx and Viktor honestly. Janna is fictitious in the world of Arcane, but to me, Jinx is the blue bird that appeared before the storm/ rage of Piltover (as we will soon see when she starts the revolution, hence the blue flag she holds in ber hand in the trailer) and Viktor being the savior who helps the Zaunites in some other way, especially at the mention of Janna's staff and Viktor himself having a staff.

He looks so alone and helpless
it was a CHOICE for Jayce to be (a) wounded (b) shirtless for this scene. It was a real choice.
BABY augh
amazing facial expression, what a mental state Jayce must be in, amazing way to realize your friend is naked
Like, this is a serious scene and I love it and I don't mean to make light of it, but the fact that they're both wearing little to nothing is driving me a little insane, that was a choice, that was such a choice
Harry Lloyd's line readings man. idk why this fucking killed me
HE'S BEAUTIFUL??????
aughhhhhhh
AHHHHHHH
AAAAUUUUUUUUUGH
This scene has me climbing walls and gnawing on glass

Viktor transformation including his crutch, meaning his crutch is part of him, because he is a disabled man and thinks of his cane/crutch as a part of himself was absolutely on point.

Hi! I’m a big fan of your Zaun Family fic! I was curious as to what were silco and vander’s first impression upon meeting Jayce? I assume silco saw him as a threat since he made victor promise they’re just professional partners lol. Thank you for your work!
Their first assessment of him is that he's a naive slightly-egotistical idiot. But no more egotistical than anyone else in Piltover. Which honestly probably remains their assessment of him for a lot of time just it becomes he's a useful naive slight-egotistical idiot both because of how Hextech would not exist if it wasn't for Jayce (as well as Viktor) and also just generally how keen Jayce is to help out and the fact he is pretty handy.
Silco does see him as a threat but not because he thinks Jayce would intentionally consciously harm Viktor but rather because
He's can see how Jayce can be manipulated into doing things he would not have done otherwise
Generally he thinks naive idiots are dangerous because they will do things / not do things without realising the consequences of it.
But despite many comments to the contrary (he claims it's because someone needs to keep Jayce's ego from getting to his head but really Jayce is just a too-easy target for him) he is aware that Jayce is necessary for the success of Hextech. So he can stay around but also an eye should be kept on him to make sure he doesn't fuck things up.
One of the ways Silco refers to Jayce is "Viktor's Pet-Piltite" sometimes dropping the -Piltite. And that's partially based on how he's told Viktor that he's responsible for making sure Jayce doesn't do anything too stupid especially when he brings him down to the Undercity with him.
I don't think Silco ever actually made Viktor promise they were just professional partners but rather Viktor so quickly would always emphasis in conversation that they were just professional/buisness partners literally right up until it is revealed they're in a romantic relationship. So Silco's "you assured/promised your relationship was purely professional" is more about Viktor clearly lying about it for an unknown period of time.
Vander's position to Jayce is very similar to Silco's in that he agrees that Jayce's naivety could mean he could still cause problems even without ever intentionally meaning to harm. It's just, unlike Silco, he's willing to give Jayce the benefit of not assuming it is inevitable that he will create a problem. So instead treats Jayce more as how he is right now that is a bit naive, has a bit of an ego, but his heart is in the right place.

i haven’t really said much on this but i’ve been thinking about how viktor not only looks healthier, but much more like his younger self too (the pride flag eyes excluded)
i don’t know if it’s just because of the artists doing more touch-ups to his design or what, but idk i feel like this viktor
has lesser features of his child self than the viktor we see after he gets fused with the hexcore.
im also thinking it’s intentional because of the parallels there are of him looking up towards sky after healing someone // him as a child looking up at sky, testing out his little toy boat.
