Fandom: God there’s like NO content anymore. I wish we could get more art and fanfics :(((
Someone: Hey, I can’t draw anything digitally, because I can’t afford a tablet, but here’s a pen on paper drawing that I spent a lot of time and hard work on. Also, I took a shot at my first fanfic and I’d really like some feedback or at least some kudos if you enjoyed it :)
Fandom: Oh... yeah sorry no... not you. We actually meant writers that are already well known and popular to produce MORE content... I mean, if a popular blog shares your work then maybe. And we don’t really like pen to paper art. We just don’t think it’s professional or even looks good :/

Hey friends. Do this:
Tumblr media
This probably took this person 3 seconds to do but it immediately told me that they liked my story enough to come back and read it again and they liked it again the second time.
Your favorite writers Do Not Know that you think about their stories after you read them. I generally assume that my stories make people happy for the few minutes they’re reading and then they never think about it again. To know that that’s not the case and that someone has returned just makes my little heart swell with joy.
I needed this today. If you’re the person who left this comment (or if you’ve ever commented on any of my writing) I love you.

as you walk to the edge of the world, things begin to subtly... change. suddenly, you drop something and it never seems to be quite where it belongs.
your steps carry you unevenly, and the blocks of the world are always just a bit out of place.
bit by bit, walking changes. the world is always just a little bit out of place.
and then, finally, you reach THE WALL.
a towering wall of unnaturally flat stone stretching as high as anyone can build, shot through with caves and tunnels, dark and full of mobs and worse.
here, where the world breaks you have a feeling that your world is far less solid than you thought.
but there's no obvious cause.
wander the vast length and breadth of the wall, and you will, eventually, find A CORNER, where the world changes, just a little, showing that there is some kind of boundary that you cannot see, only infer, beyond which nothing was meant to go.
your prison is vast. but it is not infinite.
and what may lie in the depths of this new, strange place, can only be imagined.

Depth can be hard to do intentionally sometimes.
fortunately, your mind is a deep, complex machine and is capable of being deep and metaphorical for you, simply through the way you write and how you modify and develop an idea. the bad news is, you don't always control what it cooks up :D
The problem w writing fiction is that you'll be like tee-hee I'm going to write a story about a fucked up little scenario that's got nothing to do with anything in real life, just some pure messed up nonsense, and then you finish it and take a step back and go aw rats I made a metaphor again

Chapter 116
Check in with the Bad Guys
It doesn't look like hyperlinks are working correctly. I seem to have gotten a workaround going though.

In Command and Conquer, the GDI make use of orbital drops, with drop pods, and in my C&C/ME crossover, the Turians, Asari and Krogan also use drop pods, and the Normandy has drop pods and the launchers, and the MAKO Hunter IFV has a Launch Cradle that throws it out the ship.
so not only can they do this, more or less, they might have to.
I had a dream that was replaying mass effect 1 but at the end instead of having the normal fight on the citadel Commander Shepard was FIRED OUT OF THE NORMANDYS GUN LIKE A BULLET DIRECTLY AT THE REAPER and it was obliterated and everyone was like Shepard oh nooo 😔 just like in the actual game and then Shepard just walked up and was fine even though they were SHOT
out of a SPACE SHIP
at THE REAPER

"One Word, Paragon:" You say grinning, and pointing up as the superstrong Paragon slows down at the entrance to your base, suspicious due to the lack of obvious guards.
"And that word is?" he says, clearly annoyed with the usual wordplay.
"Shitstorm."
"Do you know where we are relative to the city?" you ask.
"Under Ninth, east side..." he looks up, eyes scintillating with otherworldly light as he peers through the street and the roof of the Old City tunnels.
then he glares at you, eyes returning to normal.
"Under the Primary Sewage Processing Facility." he says.
"Indeeeeeeed. So you see, if we fight down here and knock over the structural pillars, well, not only do we get buried in a million gallons of sewage, but half the city will lose Wastewater for weeks while they fix it. And it'll turn Old City into a worse health hazard than it already is." He snorts. Sounding almost amused when he says "Clever. of course..." he looks straight at you. "That doesn't stop me from landing on you when you bring your schemes topside..." he says, and turns around, leaving the tunnels.
[Two Weeks Later]
On the TV, Paragon is holding a press conference.
"Old City is an irreplaceable part of the city's history and architecture. But the way the current surface level of the city sits atop it is structurally unsound, and if something collapses down there, we might not only lose Surface structures, we might lose priceless historical structures in Old City.
This is why I am offering to aid the City in renovating and reinforcing Old City"
he says.
You shrug. if he's doing that, he's not getting in your way.
[Three Weeks Later]
Paragon's back.
Only this time, there's a handful of city police, and a bunch of engineers, safety people and city surveyors.
And a lawyer with a notice that might as well be an eviction notice.
"It's for your own safety, as well as the general safety of the community. We're going to be reinforcing this area to modern standards, and if something goes wrong, you don't want your uh... lair, caught in a flood of sewage?"
worst part is, your lawyer would absolutely advise you to accept the order, what with the fact that it is kinda unstable.
Paragon winks at you as you take the court order.
That Bastard.
No superhero dares to storm your base… not because you're strong or had to beat, but you built it underneath the City' sewage system and one wrong move would mess up the water supply for everyone.
