Tony Peniche is a jack-of-all-trades. He began his degree at Western Oregon University where he ended up getting his Associate’s degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science. During his time at University he participated in Track and Field and did the 100m, 200m, and long jump events. After two years at Western Oregon University he knew that this isn’t what he wanted to do for the rest of his life and made a 360-degree turn and enrolled at the Art Institute of Portland.
He ended up receiving his BA in Apparel Design, which is what he was truly passionate about at that time. Right after finishing his degree at the young age of 21, Tony became a fashion designer and quickly became successful. Several brands such as, Lamborghini, Motocorsa, 42 Bellow, Vodka, and Red Bull quickly sponsored him. He became one of the youngest designers to show a label at Paris Fashion Week, which was an amazing opportunity for him to show all of his hard work and talent. After the fashion show he made a large impact on the designer of Oscar de la Renta, Jose Solis and landed an internship under him in New York. This was a great opportunity and Jose Solis served as a very experienced mentor to Tony. Finally in 2012, after only 6 years of being a men’s fashion designer, the Portland Fashion and Style Awards awarded the Fashion Designer of the Year to Tony. Tony Peniche is pushing limits to achieve success.
After his time in the fashion industry, Tony Peniche was read to push the limit even further and decided to become a full on entrepreneur. He now does a lot of free business consulting in the Portland area such as, development, innovation, investor strategies, kickstarter funding, marketing, manufacturing and launch strategies. Thankfully there is a new generation in town that is shaking up the way we conceptualise the office space altogether, hoping to abolish it with their tireless creative efforts. The office building is being decimated by a new breed of artist-businessmen who know that the creative world is the key to refreshing business practices worldwide. One person that has done a lot for this avenue is Tony Peniche, an entrepreneur and designer from Portland.
Tony Peniche has made good headway with his company NXT, a group that is dedicated to the new creative industries in Portland. As an artist himself it is only natural that Tony Peniche was able to come up with such great ideas and attract a crowd of other creative individuals that were keen to get involved. The idea was simple in its foundation; get artists together and help them thrive together. Tony Peniche focusses on individual workers that need a community to underpin them and this is what NXT offers.
One of their most revolutionary ideas was to acquire a huge studio space in downtown Portland which was quickly turned into a pseudo-office that housed separate workers. All the workers were in different fields, photography, editing, directing and so on, but they worked as a team. As each worker brought in clients they would outsource work to each other and make sure that they all had some piece of the action. This way the independent workers acted as a corporation where they gave helping hands to each other in a way never before seen. On the side, office life is pretty different too, with an integrated basketball court and minibar on site. Tony Peniche continues to supply new and refreshing ideas to the industry this very day.

In his early 20s, he began designing what would become an impressive series a men’s clothing lines, which he subsequently displayed through several online platforms using his professional photography skills.
