Judging a book by its cover...
The old adage goes "You can't judge a book by its cover." Ok, I suppose that may carry some truth, but I think there are some 'books' out there that are just begging to be judged.
I guess it's the recent influx of cold weather. Lazy people (typically female) have had to hang up their shorts and tank tops and pull out their winter attire, which is apparently pajamas.
In the last two weeks there have been way too many occasions where I've been in public, minding my own business and spotted some person across the store sporting PJ bottoms and a hoodie.
What I can't understand is, A) When did pajamas become acceptable apparel? and B) Do people not have enough self respect to don something that doesn't give off the appearance they just rolled out of bed and into town?
Why this post? Well I reached my breaking point last night. While still annoying, pajamas in public have become a 'normal sight'. Last night, I was in a store, not the big 'Wmart', but another place, and spotted a female in pajamas. This didn't stun me, then I saw her feet....she was wearing house slippers. What's next? Wearing a robe instead of a jacket? I'm sure it's happened, and if it hasn't, it soon will.
Stay classy!

I live in a smaller town that lacks some of the more "modern" conveniences. One of those "conveniences" is a Starbucks. You can find them on every corner, except ours.
Not too long ago I caught wind from some good sources that a Starbucks was heading our way.
Today, thanks to a connected coworker, I hear Starbucks of Athens (Tenn.) will be opening in October. This is good news, it will be just in time for Pumpkin Spice and Caramel Apple Spice season.
Hurry up October.
(Chance to share) What's your favorite fall Starbucks beverage?

Starbucks Refreshers -- Raspberry Pomegranate
Weighing in a 60 calories and just 13 grams of sugar per can, I think most can at least say that Starbucks Refresher "Natural Energy" drink beats out others in that way.
But what of the taste. I'm not sure many people drink an energy drink the first time because of the taste. I know each time I try a new one, my first reaction is tastebud confusion.
Much is the same with the Refresher, a natural energy drink from green coffee extract infused with some fruity chasers. The first sip I took, I squinted my eyes (see Fry meme) and thought not sure if I like it, or if I'm just thirsty. So I took another, and another, and another, evidently I liked it, because I drank it all.
It says "best served cold", I will agree with this. By the time I reached the end, the room temperature taste was less enjoyable than the first.
How's it taste? Well that's up to you to decide. My take is, slightly bitter with a little earthy coffee taste, blended with a mild sweetness and a refreshing club soda like quality. Think coffee Mojito (has anybody thought of this? Probably.)
I will drink this again, and despite a slight repulsion to the idea of sour and bitter I will probably give the strawberry lemonade a shot.
I haven't tried this fresh from a Starbucks yet, that's next on my list. Since I don't have a Starbucks in the town I live in, I'll have to settle for the canned versions for a bit. (I know, so sad)
Have you tried a refresher yet? @anthonydake on Twitter and let me know what you thought.
I've included a snapshot of the Nutrition Facts below:

Poisonous Apple...not the fruit
I resisted as long as I could. I said "I'll never pay that much for a computer". However, the poison eventually got me.
It started with an iPod Touch used to Develop iOS Apps, then a MacBook to use at work because I had began traveling outside the office more, now I own an iPhone. Am I happy about this, not really...can I help it, no.
So, what changed the mind of an avid PC and Android user? Integration and support.
PC and Android both have more companies producing more products than most of us can count. Apple on the other hand, pushes their products all through the same gate. To me this leads to better builds and greater support.
PC and Android both still make superior products, actually I'm typing this on a PC. PCs are easier to manipulate and trouble shoot, but Macs rarely need that because of their stability.
And the iPhone....possibly my strongest resisted Apple product. Why? Popularity. I try my hardest to not jump on board with something because that's "whats trending". I know how "hipster" of me right.
So why the iPhone? Integration...
I type a note on my iPhone and within seconds it's on my Mac. I take a photo on my iPhone within seconds it's on iPhoto. I know you can do all this with an Android and a PC, but it just doesn't work as seamlessly. "But what about Flash," you might ask. Flash is dying, it won't be around much longer...
A word of warning, the Apple is poisonous, it will consume you.
What's on my radar now though...an iPad and Apple TV. I still stand firm that I'd never pay for an Apple tower, that's not changing.
