comic characters really don't be mean and rude and assholes and awful people unless they're villains anymore it's such a shame. i miss reading a comic where the "heroic" character openly attempts to murder someone or whatever like that was so funny.

It continually strikes me how jjpopes dynamic is so loving and gentle, so natural in terms of touching and intimacy, but what makes it really stand out is how willing jj is to sacrifice himself for pope. And the way this plays out explicitly in the show??? maybe the writers had an aneurysm because they explicitly wrote a white character (the fan-favorite white character) constantly putting his life on the line for a black character. HOW many times do you see a black character being treated with such care, being cherished and protected, considered someone worth sacrificing for, someone talented and special and so clearly loved and worth loving? It is so rare and so special and in this random teen drama it is a vital plot point, that jj takes on a 30k debt for pope because he knows pope has a future that could easily be destroyed by literally anything he does (or doesn’t do!). Pope is the golden boy, jj’s golden boy, and he’d go to hell and back to make sure he’s alright, make sure he’s safe.
And that obvious, CANON dynamic makes it even more transparent how little the majority of obx fans actually care about jj (and really pope, but we already knew that) when they so easily choose to ignore one of jjs most consistent character traits (his fierce devotion and protection of his friends, ESPECIALLY pope). if more obx fans (those that adore jj above all else) actually acknowledged the canonical devotion jj has to pope not to mention simply seeing pope as a character worth loving - seeing pope like jj does -this fandom would look very different (and possibly more welcoming to fans of color than it is now).

The centre of every poem is this: I have loved you. I have had to deal with that.

I’m still drawing at least one Johnny for every Cobra Kai episode, and here’s the one for S01E05.
I think this was the first moment since we met Aisha that we saw her have some HOPE. Look, Johnny’s kind of awful and made one of my favorite children run away crying hahaha, and insulted his would-be students, and hit some of them, and for that he did not apologize… but you know what, he also gave Aisha hope.
