This is my favorite claybaby. Last night I watched the Bob’s Burger’s movie and something in my psyche must have been disturbed by Louise’s melted kuchi kopi because I dreamt that Dots Maurice’s head got melted and shattered beyond recognition and woke up so relieved.

Long Neckington (sold)

A small long-necked fellow made using Phoenix Clay and fired to cone 6. The glaze is Marigold from the Amaco Celadon line. He and his stocky little blue brother (not pictured) were sold in December, right before my laptop was stolen out of my husband’s car.

Mole Teapot

I spent a significant amount of time in open studio this week working on this mole-inspired teapot. With the exception of the eyes, I built it entirely with coils and smoothed them out. I think Lizella might be my new favorite clay and coiling my new favorite method. I really appreciate the control coils give me over the shape and thickness of pieces. I know everyone hates coils, but I hate molds more!

I also don’t know who’s ever going to end up reading this. I don’t know anyone who even uses Tumblr. Being 28 and having grown up on the internet, having a place online to share pieces of myself it feels comforting, even if no one reads it. But Meta products feel too dystopian and I’m afraid that my brain chemistry will be permanently altered if I sign up for TikTok, so I’m on here.
