So far the quarter has been really going well for me I have been having a hard time with all the work plus commuting back and forth but overall enjoying the experience. I feel like even the quarter went by so much faster compared to how slow they usually would feel. All over I feel more involved in everything and really enjoy this self paced work time I have been having as well as having the right amount of time to take for everything.

Something that has been bringing me joy lately is going out to the gym, since the school life feels really fast paced and not so like me time I feel like going to the gym brings me some joy that I am able to give myself that time out of my day for myself and for something that is good for me.

I am seeing the various different responses from people and of course it is a natural thing t have contradicting opinions about the same topic but I feel like this is a really direct attack to someones beliefs and religion, because it doesn't have sense to be banning a religious thing from someones life when wearing an abaya had nothing negative to do with anyone I just feel like all the excuses that are being made up to cover this attack are really not making any sense if we logically think about it.
France wants to ban Abayas for "security" purposes without thinking about the religious value this holds in someones life and I dont understand why it is a problem when the security measures should not be taken towards someone beliefs and clothing but rather over someones actions and laws.
After reading a couple of articles I have seen a similar thing that has been quoted that came up saying "you should not be able to identify someones religion as soon as you see them" but I dont understand what is wrong with that and what they are trying to prove by saying such things. Many sources are calling this a racial attack while there are some out there still saying that this is a security measure, some even saying that this is a mandatory step they meed to take for more students and people to feel more involved and well fitted in, but looking at al the different reasons there is no common base to why actually the ban needs to happens.

article:
Islamophobia, anti-Semitism rises in EU amid Israel-Hamas war: Official
This article is talking about what islamophobia is and how it's affecting peoples life. There are many attacks and hate crimes caused by people who just have a strange hatred toward the islamic religions and muslim people in general and a lot of these incidents go unnoticed or ignored. There are a lot of hate crimes, murders, racist attacks toward children, women, and elderly just because they are muslims, just because of a religions they believe in. These crimes get thrown away or covered up so that they dont come out in the media and these people never get justice, but how can this continue happening when they also deserve same right as anyone yet the get set back every time.
There is another article that has come up multiple times in the reference which was related to the islamophobia topic that not only happened all over Europe but focusing on just the islamophobia in France going back to the topic of the abaya ban. They are calling this a racial action since they are trying ti target the muslim minority. They want to control the muslim women to fit their standards but not wanting to accept them foe who they are for their own mindset.

Blog 3 Alladin vs Alladin
After looking at both the movie and reading the original folktale I already started seeing the differences at the beginning. In the original Folktale Aladdin was a young boy who had lost his father he came from a lower class family and after his fathers passing he only had his mother left. He was lazy and dint want to work then he got tricked by this magician who was pretending to be his fathers brother, but actually was only pretending so he could use him to get the powerful lamp, but when Aladdin went down to he took a lot of precious gems with him and the lamp was buried in his pocket, when the magician dint get the lamp he loved him in the ground. Afterwards when he returned home thanks to the power of the lamp he told his mom everything and when he needed something he would ask the jinni. Slowly he realized the wealth he owned and the power he has but he did not use it for bad but instead gave all of his existing wealth to the Sultan in order to marry his love, the princess. When they finally got married he gave her all the accommodations that she needed to live a perfect life, as well as he would help people as well making them all favor him. When the magician found out about the lamp he stole it but Aladdin not only got back the lamp but the princess too. Killed the brother of the magician as well who tried to get revenge for his brothers death, then they lived happily ever after.
In the Disney movie Aladdin was a boy, also called a street rat multiple times, he had a pet monkey, Abu, who was his companion, no family. He would steal and eat for that way one day the princess ran away because she was being forced to marry a prince, she wasn't allowed to make her own decisions, leave the palace, or marry someone besides the prince. When she ran away she met Aladdin and fell in love with him, trying to hide her identity they get caught and Aladdin gets detained. The he has to help the Sultans advisor, Jafar, get the lamp, when he got the lamp he couldn't get up and Jafar closed the portal. because he didnt want to risk getting caught, when Aladdin was trapped down there he found how to use the lamp and he found the magical flying carpet that helped him get out. When he got out he pretended to be a prince to go and marry the princess, when they were starting to fall in love and everything was going good Jafar stole the lamp and took over everything that's where Aladdin comes in as the hero and saves everyone. Then he frees the ginni and they live happily ever after.
These two story might have some similarities but have A b bunch of differences, in the Disney movie there were a lot of steryotypes of Arabland, oppressed women, old fashioned, sexualized dressing sense, and even the ginny was kind of like a clown and just used to be shown as a comedic character and nothing more. I feel like,e this was very wrong because the Disney movie is washed by kids and as they grow up they see the ideology that Arabs and their way of living is like this, but in reality they are just people like us. They're culture, their beliefs, and their way of life has been made fun off and shown completely wrongly when it reality everything is quiet the opposite. If these types old jokes were made about another culture or race there would have been protests and headlines of news but racism towards Arabs is always viewed as "it's just a joke". As we move into more of a modern society we have to change the views because even after all these wars, protests, and various news we forget to see the other side of the story we are fixated on seeing the side of the story we are shown to hide the wrongdoing that these stereotypes and jokes have. I think that we should see both sides of the story and see how the story would be different if it was another group of people being represented.

Blog 2 Friend Story
I wrote a little poem for my friend who recently lost her friend, they had grown up together and their birthday was a day apart which I found really cute.
From Looking at you to looking up to you
From being with you to missing you
Being the same age for a day
and now Im stuck in today
Distances might've increased since may
But a part of me will always wait...

Blog 1 Myself
Im Anmolpreet Pannu, but I go by Anmol. I was born and raised in Italy but moved here a couple ears back and started going to school here. My preferred pronouns are she/her.
A recent show I was really enjoying watching Was Never have I ever, this show was about an Indian girl who was trying to fit in the standards and perfectness of high school, she had a lot of bad experiences in her past and she was going through a lot of problems at home. The reason why she acted the way she did was mainly because of her past, I really liked this show because eveyrthing was shown in a comedic way more than a serious and heavy way.
I am pretty confident in my writing and reading skills, I do have a hard time understanding some terms because English is not my first language but besides that it's I am pretty confident.
I am very confutable with speaking and working with English, but besides English I am also very comfortable with Italian.
I feel very comfortable with technology especially after covid since I took most of high school online.
I like both word and google docs
I feel very comfortable with this class so far I dont have any specific questions or anything I am worried about.
