You know what could have been good visual storytelling that would have demonstrated just how Deeply Unwell Gihun was right after the rebellion, and which might have made me actually buy Gihun killing Daeho, without it killing Gihun's character for me?
When the players are lead out onto the stairs and see the bodies of the dead rebels hanged from the ceiling, have Gihun hallucinate Jungbae's face on every body (which also covers why Gihun, at least, wouldn't have noticed Youngil's body missing among the dead). Give us the ringing in his ears that drowns out everything else around him, the flashbacks to the rebellion with the sound of gunshots from every direction, the Front Man mocking him in that robotic voice and the blood still spreading wet and red over Jungbae's heart.
When Gihun is strangling Daeho, have Gihun hallucinate the Front Man's mask over Daeho's face. Maybe he also once again hears only the Front Man's distorted, robotic voice asking him if he enjoyed being a hero, instead of anything Daeho is actually saying. (Extra layers of painful irony for the audience, since we know that one of Gihun's teammates was the Front Man and did betray him, but it wasn't Daeho.)
As soon as Daeho is dead, have the rage on Gihun's face slowly morph into horror, as the Front Man's mask fades to reveal Daeho's blank, dead eyes, face frozen in the terror he felt as Gihun strangled him to death, and it sets in for Gihun what he's really just done.
When Gihun is lead back to the dorms, have him look up at the hanged bodies again and see Daeho's face, this time, on the body next to Jungbae.
Have him see another body that wasn't there before, when he was being lead into Game 4 - a body with his face, because what has he done in killing Daeho, if not give up on himself and everything he believed in when he chose to return to this hell?
Later, the night before the last game when he's standing over one of the finalists and hallucinates Saebyeok to stop him from murdering the other finalists in their beds, have her words change slightly from S1 - not, "You're not that kind of person," (given that Gihun was exactly 'that kind of person,' if not worse, in episode 2) but instead something like, "You don't have to keep being that kind of person. You know the kind of person you want to be."
If Gihun is going to have such an extreme breakdown, then show me exactly how unwell this man is. Show me the tricks that his mind is playing on him, how far he's dissociating from reality as he fails to cope with the unbearable burden of this latest trauma. And if he's still going to be the protagonist who later is able to make the much harder and more compassionate choice for people who aren't even his friends/teammates (who even actively want to kill a helpless baby), then show us the depth and immediacy of Gihun's guilt/remorse in the wake of killing Daeho. Give the audience a sense of the impact this act would have on Gihun, the sheer horror he would have with himself for carrying it out, if we're meant to believe that he still finds such an act monstrous enough to stop himself from doing it again under much more justifiable circumstances.
Acknowledge that doing something so devastating to your own moral core wouldn't just go away, and at the same time send the message that just because you have done something monstrous to yourself doesn't mean you have to keep doing monstrous things. Regardless of what you've done that you cannot undo, as long as you're still alive it is never too late to look at yourself, accept the kind of person you've been acting like, and decide for yourself what kind of person you want to be going forward.

being a part of squid game fandom is fun until you realize that a lot of people you know has watched it but none of them are that big of a fan like you are. So despite squid game being seen by everyone, you have literally no one to talk about it to.

the thing i hate the most abt s3 writing is that in the first episodes NO ONE BARELY MENTIONS YOUNG IL. LIKE BRO. BE FR. He was as a member of gihun's team as daeho or jungbae were and everyone perceived him this way. He even took part in the rebellion AND went to find the control room(?) with some other guys. And. His body was not hanging in the atrium. HOW THE HELL wouldn't you mention this when young il was literally your greatest ally and a friend? But even without it, gihun or others never mention him, like he was never there.

did you know that junhee's baby's angelic number is literally 555? because she was born on November 4th, 2024 -> 4+1+1+2+0+2+4= 14; 1+4=5. And what else equals 555? Right, 222+333
