Mixed files: music that's the shit, documentation of the life of a wind tunnel rat, scraps of poemy scribbles. The world is an erratically fractured globe. You hold on to some things and peer at them hard enough, you can see the silver threads of reality...

This resonates with my spirit! I’ve been feeling tired and weary and like a bit of a directionless failure (nbd). I’m taking some comfort from this article and then FULL SEND picking up all the pieces and getting work done.

“Every living man is alone, Louis,” he said gravely. “Each one of us in his loneliness undergoes the moment of recognition of sin, and it is mere vanity to believe that there are not moments like this in life.” Maurice Druon’s Strangled Queen

A wee babe in shock after hitting our window. The broskis rescued this hummer from our cats. He flew off happily after fifteen minutes of chilling in this box.

I know this is a damn mirror selfie, but it’s a mirror selfie in a church that makes me feel love to attend. These last years have been a bit rough; from the brief stretch where I dated dreadlocks bro who sneakily pushed me out of a worship team, to the echoing cathedral my ex is staking out, to my family’s church that he also attends, to the various empty-football-chatter congregations I’ve given a shot, I’ve struggled to hold onto church as an expression of my spirituality. But I’m excited about going back. I’m sad I’m missing the Easter service. I can’t wait to get to know people, to sing amongst the voices.

This article made me want to cry.
It’s about reconceptualizing addiction as ritualized, compulsive, comfort-seeking behaviors. As a reaction to adversity. As a reasonable, albeit tragic response to the chaos and pain that life often is.
I think this man has a beautiful and effective approach that I found fascinating.
