since you have some expertise with loops internals, what do you think their skeleton looks like if they have one? Do they have a skull under there?

you encourage me... their skeleton is like any other, skull and all- just with a few differences (so discreetly using this to draw their guts some more)

They do have a skull past the light, their head is soft and warm to hold. I don't think they have a lot of hair though- i have yet to make a "human" loop design but they have very thin hair, much shorter than it used to be and it cannot grow anymore, but its nice to feel against your hand

for context, my depiction of godpoke has abductor spasmodic dysphonia (basically, vocal chords can’t tighten, so speaking takes huge effort and sounds very quiet and breathy) and doesn’t speak because of several reasons surrounding that (energy and effort, self consciousness, anxious about how others perceive them). the megapon was quite literally a godsend for them, but that doesn’t make it any easier to explain to well-meaning bizzyboys that talking is just not something they feel comfortable doing.
