This, but also because I need to see how these characters would interact in a relationship that isn't just with me.
In BG3, just what kind of hell could you create if Lae'zel and Minthara were into each other? How much would I as the PC need to act as their self control?
In Warframe, I would lose my damn mind if Quincy and Amir bonded and Quincy showed Amir the same gentleness he shows to the kids from his neighborhood, and Amir shows Quincy how to kick back and relax with some arcade games and ttrpg. Both of them bonding with the Drifter over a homebrew Duviri campaign and fleshing out their experiences.
Its always kind of a shame when there is no poly option cause I don't really play these games to date NPCs I can't share real life experiences with. But if I could see those characters share experiences relating to the world they have lived through, it would flesh out the world, and help me bond deeper with them as characters.
I think more games with romance should include polyamory as an option. Not just because of inclusion purposes but also because a lot of these games are super long RPGs and I sure as hell don't have time to replay the game 5 times to romance everyone I wanted to.

this is a controversial opinion and I’m not a gamer but I don’t need my graphics to be that good. I don’t need to see every individual feather on a bird. my poor computer doesn’t deserve to carry that weight either.

Everybody who wears The One Ring in LOTR starts to refer to it as ‘My Precious,’ and Tolkien’s right that is super creepy, but what I really love is that everybody does it, which says to me that this super powerful scary evil sentient ring has a favorite pet name and just, like, will not respond to anything else.
