Amity was born with a weakened bile sac. This has made her especially vulnerable to attacks on her magical ability, and she attacks Willow as ���half a witch” as projection. Even if Willow was a late bloomer Amity understands she’s a far more powerful witch.

To compensate for the disability she has to work three times as hard to be recognized as a witch.

Seven. Wow. Ok um.

1. Amity is autistic. High-functioning, and she shows it more in her passion about things she likes, rather than developmentally. She was frequently told she was wrong for simply learning the world around her.

2. Phrases like Luz’s “I’m picking up what you’re putting down” are actually quite common. Amity just tends to take things very literally because of her autism.

3. Amity has very poor vision, but masks it in an effort to uphold the flawless image of the Blights. She usually has contacts but she has worn glasses from time to time.

4. Amity is prone to dumb luck injury. The kind that’s like “HOW DO YOU CUT YOURSELF ON A PAPER PLATE?”

5. Amity goes above and beyond to earn the praise of those close to her. Even when she does something clearly not correct (putting the handle of the tea bag in the hot water she offered Camila)

6. Amity is a lovely mezzo soprano, and she is actually quite talented. But she doesn’t really sing for anyone, or even herself.

7. Amity does not allow herself to be praised and is very hesitant to accept it, even from Luz. Odalia raised her to be proper and poised, and her teaching style was not very conducive to positivity. She was always told what she did was wrong, vs what she did right. Rarely did Odalia offer praise for Amity’s actions, instead focusing on the shortcomings. (Ex. mom I got an A! But why didn’t you get an A+ mittens? You’ll need to work harder next time to uphold the Blight name, understood?). If given praise she’ll either sheepishly accept it or list five different reasons as to why she’s unworthy of it.
