Before You Have to Go - Amie Ireland

I started writing this album around 2018. At the time I had this fascination with concept albums, and this took inspiration from the many classic concept albums about relationships like Twin Fantasy or Monomania by Car Seat Headrest. It's free to listen to on Bandcamp.

The sound definitely takes influence from csh as well, but the major conscious influence was the dream-pop/shoegaze adjacent indie/alt style of bands like Alvvays. It has loud, crashing guitars, washes of synths, and dramatic, sometimes meandering songwriting.

Recording took place mostly this year, in my room with an electric guitar, a shitty old acoustic, a borrowed bass, and my pets (a cat and a rabbit) keeping me company. I'm quite proud of how far I've come with the production/mixing side of things. I think it sounds good, but definitely still has that lo-fi-ish character of DIY recordings that I know a lot of people love.

Of course I'd love to have lots of people listen to it, but I'm mostly just getting this out there for my own amusement, and looking for lovely people to share art with.
