So many around me, including myself, are feeling "under the weather" in some way. In such case, I take a shot of Fire Cider and make a seltzer Elderberry drink or just sip the syrup and I'm back to health in a day or so. This month, I'm taking pre-orders for a share of Fire Cider and/or Elderberry Syrup. I make in bulk and will make to the orders I receive, happy to share these heirloom recipes with my friends + readers. 8oz Elderberry Syrup: $16 8 oz Fire Cider: $21 Save a dollar if you bring your own container! Local pickup - Elderberry ready 5/21 | Fire Cider ready 6/4. Direct message me if you're interested, have questions, or would like to reserve your share. Payments accepted via Venmo + cash. 📸 | @kinwards #herbsforhealth #medicinecoop #handmadewithlove (at Uptown, Saint Petersburg, Florida)

This is me, epitomized in a photo. Scarf draped lazily, head down writing with my @sakuraofamerica pen in my @moleskineofficial (with my @midoritravelersnotebook nearby) with a latte and a small mess surrounding me - add in asking a stranger to take my photo and that's the majority of my favorite time spent. It isn't the majority of my time, but the more I recognize what truly brings me joy (not financial security - social status - material success), I come back to this version of myself and find peace. 📸 | nice stranger who I interrupted while reading + thank you @interactivebodyworks for my adorable minimalist wallet 🙏🏼 (at Brooklyn Roasting Company)

When walking through Dumbo, accidentally having the coolest view of the Brooklyn Bridge is astoundingly easy. Suffice to say, I felt most at-home in this cobblestoned, brimming with specialty coffee, healthy-brunch filled hipster paradise. #quietraveler #exploress #insearchofpeace (at DUMBO, Brooklyn)

Strange - I miss the pure downtime afforded to me by train commute. And the opportunity to wear this @jcrew jacket, gifted by @mpartyka - it was my weekend warrior cape. 👋🏼 (at Tarrytown)

Nothing puts my existence into perspective like leaving my comfy, warm hometown - where I've lived all my 24 years - and dropping myself into a sea of millions upon millions of unfamiliar faces. Once upon a time, I craved this place. I wanted the hype, the pace, the innumerable choices of what to do and who to be. This visit solidified for me that deep down, that isn't who I am. Deep down, I am quiet and contemplative, slow and deliberate, intentional and connected. Where I was lost was in who I was creating myself to be. What I found was who I have always been. The greatest gift I received during my time in New York was space. A dear friended provided a space to stay, to let go and give in; a lover gave space in support of my needing to retreat; a city gave space for inspiration, newness, and reflection; and hours of transportation gave space for acknowledging aspects of living, conscious and subconscious, that I no longer want to keep. My reflection on slow living, feeling loved, my relationship with consumption, the monkey mind that never seemed to stop, and on what I want for my future couldn't have been possible without these gifts. Thank you. 🙏🏼 (at Morristown, New Jersey)

One of the reasons I came to NYC: the opportunity to meet @lostncheeseland, US expat living full-time in Paris and the writer of #TheNewParis. Lindsey is down-to-earth, confident in her knowledge (and her French, which is gorgeous), and is an inspiring person who world I peek into via the internet. Lindsey, thank you for taking time to chat at Rizzoli and for your amazing work! (at Rizzoli Bookstore)

Thank you @mpartyka for the top half of my #ootd today, and to the nice ladies in Central Park who took this photo. Today has been spent turning corners, turning around, multiple tries for the right train, and some much-enjoyed solitude. (at Central Park West & 72nd)

This is kale. Not just any kale, it's grown at @stonebarns in Tarrytown, NY with the riches soil, the utmost focus on nutrient quality, and impressive attention to taste. The best kale I've ever had. The greenhouse was our last stop on today's 'insider's tour'. It was a reprieve from the torrential downpour outside, but it was also fresh, moist air filled with green leaves as far as the eye could see. There is hope for our food system - in small to medium sized farms, in our backyards, and in the consumer choices we make every single day. (at Stone Barns Center for Food and Agriculture)
