It's been a really long while since my last post but merely because there's nothing interesting in town of recent. Anyway, there's a sudden bloom of Thai cuisine in town. Suddenly there's two new cafes going for Thai delicacies. Sakhon is the name of this cafe. We tried to keep it safe in our orders (definitely not risking to order something too exotic that we're gonna throw into the river later). Boat noodles - where does the flavors go? Or does flavor intend to keep its distance? Papaya salad - appetizing with its sour-ish, sweet-ish flavor. Pad Thai - I don quite prefer my main course sweet. Stir-fried minced beef - very heavy spices flavor but the egg is worth a credit, so is the rice. Tom yum seafood soup - finally a satisfaction. Oh well, off to catch me some Pokemons ~ ta~

I've never felt so young for a very long time! Taking a youthful time off with a bunch of youngsters to bring back my youthfulness. Going to places and doing activities that I don't usually. Rocku Yakiniku buffet, eat-all-you-can. Ordered as many meat and seafood as you like, as long as you can finish. This is very rare to me now as I know I no longer have the stomach to eat so much in one meal. But miraculously, eating with these young people, you just laugh and talk and you don't realize you've eaten that much. The best thing about the place is you get people singing to you while you eat and they sing real good. Let's go to the Zoo, they say. So we went. The last time I've been there was like some 20+ years ago. There's more things to see now, and I love the giraffes! Ok, fine, that's a bit weird. Lol Sunway Lagoon theme park, another place that I've not been for quite some time. Good thing I still have the health to play most of the water slides. But too bad I don't have the stamina to walk up the stairs too many times. I could only go up once for each slides ranging from 3 floors to 6 floors up. Phew! Super tiring. I feel young but not as young as them no more. I get tired very quickly compared to them. Lucky they willingly accommodate me. Lol

Bangkok has never strikes me as a place to go for vacation. Perhaps it's the picture drawn in the news that gives people the creeps of its safety, cleanliness and crowd. Thanks to the recent suicide jump of MYR currency, I decided to give Thailand a try since it's within my affordable range. What I like best about the place is definitely the FOOD! You can eat with every steps you take, food is always within the hand's length. And the best is, even food you get ON the street is as good as you can imagine, at par with what you find in the restaurants. Shopping may not be my best activity there since they have limited choices for my bulky size but it's a definite heaven for ppl below L sizes. Even though so, I spent quite a handful on handmade items. There's plenty of such to choose from, again, ON the street! Fresh juices and fruits are everywhere. You can see one within a 5-minute walk. Therefore, toilet activity is not a problem at all. I had toilet problem the moment I came home. How ironic 馃槖 If anyone would ask me if I'd like to go again? Yes! I'd answer. It may not be a shopping heaven to me, but somehow it has this mysterious attraction that lingers at the back of the head that's pulling you towards it. It may be the food, it may be the scenery, or it may be the tedious but unforgettable walks. Anyway, if anyone should go again in the future, please inform me, I'd love to tag along 馃槑

A night of new food venture! New place in town - Eternal Dining. My review? Pricey but worthwhile. It's perhaps one of the few in town which is serving at upscale price. But the portion is commendable. We ordered Pork and Lamb Platter and Pork Bolognese Pizza. My friends kept yelling of how delicious they are. Me? I'm just sitting and enjoying every bite. They ain't the best I've had but they're sufficiently good. With its deco, I think it's just about right for a Christmas dinner! Lol

There's a new steamboat place in town. I think it's kinda special coz it works like how you'll eat sushi over a conveyor belt. You pick a soup base then you take anything you want from the moving belt. It's new, so lotsa people. There aren't many selections and those available are just the very ordinary kind you find from the cold storage. But anyway, it's worth trying at least once. After steamboat, I finally got the chance to try out the fried ice-cream. Vanilla ice-cream with peach for me and chocolate ice-cream with banana. Yum!

Simplicity at its best. After all the heavy loads stuffed into the stomach, sometimes it's best to have something simple. The store serves beef noodles, both soup and dry. Me and girlfriend wanted to come here for quite a long time already and it's been a year since our last visit. Finally we managed to be here despite the very hazy weather. It's still good like always. Unlike the other beef noodles we have back home which is usually cooked with soy sauce, this one does not. Beef is tender and soup is boosted only with the basic seasoning and beef itself. Pure and tender. Simple yet tasty. Love!

It was a very sick day for me, literally sick. I was struck by a sudden headache, as bad as a migraine. I don't like headaches coz headaches give me lots of entailing problems and I become semi paralyzed, almost, when I have one. Despite a table of seemingly delicious food, I felt so lack of appetite and nauseating. Anyway, back to the night of Oriental Cuisine. On strong recommendation from our friend who's now working and almost, partially, fully, a KL 'person', we, no, I, was brought to this place for dinner. I remembered the way she described it, so excitingly. Perhaps, this is a place where she can relate most to home. The name of the restaurant, I believe taken from a place in China, according to our friend, is a place very near to Fuzhou. So the taste of their food would be quite close too. That's why I assume this is where she can taste close to home. Despite my very numb tastebuds from the gurgling vomit in the stomach, I could still taste the food quite distinctively. I personally like the Lychee Meat. I would eat more of it but my stomach didn't want to give way. I remembered the taste of the very delicate beehoon, and I'm salivating thinking about it right now. Food wise, I think I would strongly recommend it to my non-oriental-food-fan @jokeysmurfs. I think she will have a change of heart too. Of course not turning a non-fan to a fan, but at least she will like it too. The story of the night climaxed with the arrival of two cups of desserts, courtesy of the table of Eurasian diners next to us. Their order came with 8 shares of desserts but they only had 5. In the end, with a bit of eye contacts, a little smiles here and there, then two cups came our way. They're not the best desserts but they're the most sincere desserts. Many thanks to the diners. I think, next time, when I'm in better condition, physically, I'll have another go with this restaurant.

Tea-time on a hazy day! It's very hazy in KL recently, so hazy that schools are closed across the country, mostly. After four hours or so of shopping, indoors, it's rest time and food time. I chose The Loaf coz I've been to the other coffee place the night before. I got us a chicken mushroom quiche, and two dark chocolate croissant. Hot food, lasagna. A weird looking lasagna. Collapsed lasagna. But taste wise, not bad. Sweet treat, got ourselves the French toast. A little tinge of fried egg, chocolate spread, a little sour-ish strawberry, and very sweet banana! I love the banana! And best of all, I love coffee! I still do even if it makes me ill sometimes. LOL

A must have on a trip to KL, even one that is so random. Since my girlfriend is having gastroenteritis, thus no raw food or too solid food for her. More like a solo Japanese meal for myself, we ordered very few. Look at the pitiful three-piece salmon sashimi. So lonely.. Mostly cooked or half cooked food this time around but still as good! Coz the best thing about food is who you're eating with and where you're eating at!

A very random getaway with a buddy of mine. The reason? Compensation from the bucket of cold water from the last trip. Since it's so random, thus, work catches up on her a day before the trip. After some arrangements, she ditched me for the night. Skipping dinner and go straight to a breakfast in the night. Tous les Jours is famous for its pastries. Since nothing much decent is available at the wee hour of 1130pm, I have to settle for breakfast menu. Lol Anyway, it's a good meal with a weird timing.

Home is where your Heart is And Fun is where your Friends are... One day of public holiday and one day of fun. Despite the fact that most of us are not bathed yet even at the odd hour of 9pm; despite the fact that most of us have been out of home for almost one day; despite the fact that most of us are sweaty and sticky; despite the fact that most of us are not dressed for the occasion, we still had TONS of FUN. It's quite unexpected that none of us felt any tinge of tiredness despite the almost full day of activities. And we had fun! It was initially a plan to help a girlfriend to release her suppressed anger, but we ended up laughing over experiments of make-up. With mood lifted, we went to Ladoree again for Minnie and Nana. Even when the waitress ain't that much friendly, we're still hyped. To transcend the mood, we went to Coffee Code for coffee and milkshake. The night ended with a wefie in the car! The perfect end~~

Sister is back in town. Coincidentally, parents have to go for a wedding reception so dinner will only be me and her. To host her dinner, I let her choose. And she chose Ladoree Cafe & Event. The cafe is currently having the Mickey Mouse theme. The whole place is decorated with various Mickey Mouse wallpaper and photos and cardboard. Though still very far from a decent Mickey themed restaurant, I figure this would be sufficient for a small town. I was planning to order the NZ sirloin steak but got persuaded by the very friendly waitress to change it to the limited-time Australian Sirloin. She said Australian is better than the NZ's. Medium rare, and it's not a disappointment. At least, for the time being, this is one closest to a medium rare steak that I have ever had in town. Sister got herself a plain old deep fried chicken chop due to the Mickey deco. The place has limited menu on beverages. I got myself the Dragon Fruit smoothies and sister got herself the Papaya Milk. Another deal of the night was that if you like and share a photo of your meal at the caf茅's Facebook page, they'll give you a Mickey / Minnie headband. Of coz I want the Minnie! The theme will go on till early November. I wonder what other theme will they come up with the next round. Eagerly waiting...

A meal that leaves trail in the mouth and the belly and the brain. My mates highly recommended this place, Tony Roma's. Potato skins, a new dish in my food itinerary. Simply delicious. Crispy skins with a thin shed of potato and crumbs of bacon bits, YUM! Crunchy and meaty at the same time. Wagyu beef, tender and aromatic. Now I know what's melt in your mouth. They do! Bet I'm going for it again in the future.

Once they were four mates who decided to watch a movie together. But as they're busy shopping, so they requested for a friend's help to buy the tickets and specifically mentioned that they want four seats together in the same row. The friend went and the four continued shopping. The friend called in between to say there's no four seats in a row. So they said it'd be fine if they can sit two by two, at least they would still have a companion instead of four. So they continued shopping after the request. It's almost time so they called the friend to get their tickets. Happily they strolled up to the cinema. Outside the hall knowing, supposedly, that two will be at one corner and the other two another corner, they decided to distribute the tickets. Out of the sudden, one said why were the seats apart? Well, they weren't. Two were at row 06, seats B-C. The other two at row 14, seats D-E. The majority agreed to the theory so they all went in the the hall. The End. No! That ain't no ending. To their shocking surprise, instead of a two by two seating, they're all at different seats INDIVIDUALLY! Row B seat 06, row C seat 06, row D seat 14 & row E seat 14. Seriously!? They were laughing so loudly and talking kinda rudely loud despite a hall full of people. Giving in to fate, they decided to sit and watch the movie while texting over Whatsapp. What a night of movie alone, but not alone.

A sweet break in between a load of shopping plans. Haagen-Dazs ice creams! When one scoop is not enough, we got ourselves a whole tray. Ordering the chocolate fondue is just so adventurous. Adventurous coz it's not a hot afternoon and we're in a very cold mall and we're sitting at a very open place where everyone walking pass can see us clearly and of coz the dust, smell and organism all around us that are so eagerly waiting to jump into the pool of warm chocolate for a swim! What's a scoop of ice cream doing in a cup with a black sth sth sitting beside it? Ah... Caffeine addiction kicked in and had to get coffee! Starbucks was too far and I might collapse on the way there without caffeine in my system, so we ordered the seducing Affogato. Coffee and ice cream, my goodness! My friends almost wanted to knock me off to sleep so I could stop drinking it so they could have some for themselves. Lol!! If I'm at home then, I think I'd licked it dry, not leaving any last drop.
