So, I’m sure you’ve had it, that feeling that you simply cannot do anything, you’re exhausted, and looking at another darn sentence is going to make your head explode. The dreaded study burnout - I’ve been there. How do you deal with burnout you may ask? Well, you stop studying and look. after. your. self!
So, here’s a list of little self-care ideas for the exhausted students’ soul:
listen to your favourite album
Take a bath and put extra bubble bath in. Don’t have a bathtub? Have a nice long hot shower!
Re-watch your favourite episode of a TV show on Netflix - I personally prefer Brooklyn nine-nine or parks and recreation.
Call up a friend that you normally don’t get to talk to or usually just text. Ask them how they are doing and get talking, no matter what it’s about.
Re-arrange your wardrobe or dresser. Organizing helps clear the mind and makes your room feel less stressful/cluttered.
Pamper yourself with body cream and give yourself a proper manicure/pedicure.
Search for Pinterest recipes for a DIY at-home facial.
Light a candle in your room.
Write in a journal about what has been going on in your life lately.
Buy yourself flowers!
Invite someone to go get coffee with you that you normally wouldn’t.
Strip your bed of all the sheets, pillow cases, and comforters. Wash and dry them with lots of dryer sheets/softener - a cosy bed guaranteed!
Go to a museum in your city (or somewhere nearby) by yourself. Allow yourself to spend as much time at one exhibit/piece as you want.
Find a library that currently has that book you’ve always wanted to read and go pick it up.
Go for a run or hop on a treadmill/elliptical - extra fun if you listen to a playlist or podcast!
Create a new playlist of all your favourite songs and load it up onto your phone or Spotify to play when you are on a commute/hanging out at home.
Make a handmade card for someone you love. Pinterest has a ton of great ideas and they don’t cost anything!
Go through your wardrobe/dresser for old clothes that you don’t wear or use anymore. Research and find somewhere to drop off the clothes to donate.
Get a massage. These can be expensive but are worth it and a once-in-awhile treat your back and neck will thank you - these are the most likely places to store stress in the body.
Prepare yourself some comfort food. Macaroni & cheese, pizza, chocolate cake or ramen!
Write down a list of the 20 things and people you are thankful for in your life right now.
Find a cool podcast to listen to! There are heaps on the ios Podcast app and also on Spotify for my android pals!
Make yourself breakfast early one morning and enjoy it in bed.
Find an event going on in your city and attend it. Scared to go alone? Invite a friend/family member/co-worker.
Look at old photos with people you love.
Go for a hike or long walk in your area - pay close attention to the sights and smells.
Play with or pet a furry friend. Don’t own one? Try visiting a shelter or even volunteering! I can confirm, pet cuddles help.

I got @doddleoddle’s book for christmas and there’s one sentence in particular that just really made me feel a lot, and that is “I’d forever be pining for attention from those ‘more important’ than me, and it hurt so much to feel as though I was just part of a statistic”. It’s basically about that crave to reach that inner circle of ‘important people’ and distancing yourself from being just someone in the crowd, and it just hits so close to home it physically hurts my chest. I’ll make a video about it at some point because there’s just so much I have to say. But ironically for right now by posting this I’m basically doing exactly that, trying to get someone’s attention, because I respect them and I want them to respect me too. Preferably for something I’ve made, as an equal and as another creator in this ever so massive and confusing world of blurred lines between fandom and fame.

hello! i was wondering what the dodie nyc signing concert is and how to get tickets? thanks 💕
hey!! it’s a concert in new york followed by a signing you can find it by googling “dodie rough trade” !! the tickets were about 10 dollars i believe ?? but you buy the album and you get the tickets along with it (you don’t have to buy the ticket and the album just the album) also you can buy the cd with is around 10 or the vinyl is around 16 i believe.

Things just transpired in my house hold that are equal parts offensive and hilarious… Here goes.
So my roommate, Dale, has a gf who does not live with us, but she’s here all the time. So Sunday when my gf was her we were on the couch and we kissed (scandalous, I know) and she saw it, and I’m pretty sure that’s the first time she’s seen us be affectionate, that’s neither here nor there.
So today she tells Dale she’s “uncomfortable” here and wants him to move out because she thinks me and my lady are going to hit on her or something, she doesn’t like living with lesbians, cause it’s not “normal”, so now I’m pissed. Then, Dale goes, “well you don’t live here, so it shouldn’t be a problem, just stop coming over”…things escalated and Dale is trying to break up with her, but she won’t leave our house….she locked herself in Dales room.
So, Dale barges in my room wearing a bathrobe and goes, “call every lesbian you know, we’re smoking this bitch out!” Then turns around and whips his robe like a cape…
And that’s the story of how there are 8 lesbians climbing through the window of Dales room…
