Rick is possibly Kirby's most well-known animal helper. His debut was Kirby's Dream Land 2 on Gameboy, where he first appeared, along with Coo and Kine. He then returned in Kirby's Dream Land 3 on Super Nintendo, with Kine and Coo, with 3 brand-new helpers; Nago, Chuchu, and Pitch! KDL3 is one of my favorite game titles to this day! Alright, so it's been hot news the last couple weeks. That leaked GS Space World Demo ROM is big news, and it's just amazing to see all of the pokemon that just BARELY didn't make the cut. Here's an example of one of our potential Pokemon; "Madame" is the evolution of Farfetch'd, who appears to be a masked swan-like waterfowl who wields a leek that has blossomed. Could it be a nod to the childrens' story of The Ugly Duckling? I drew this for my brother, since he's the biggest Farfetch'd fan I know. And honestly, Farfetch'd is so under-loved. It's too bad this never came to be. If we're lucky, Nintendo will reconsider some of these cast-offs for the new generation that is due to release in 2019. Cross your fingers! I'm working on a concept design of how Gorochu could have looked! Some of you may have seen the news -- it was revealed in an interview with Ken Sugimori and Atsuko Nishida that originally, before the release of Red and Green, there was a 3rd evolution for Pikachu! It was described to have fangs and horns, and its design inspiration came from the Japanese God of Thunder, Raijin (which is what I went for here). It was completely coded in the game, but was scrapped last minute for game balance purposes, among other reasons. Evidence suggests this is true, particularly a trade NPC in RGB located on Cinnabar Island in the building where you revive fossils. There is an old man who wants you to trade him a Raichu for an Electrode. If you trade it to him, he says "The Raichu you traded to me went and evolved!"
