One interesting thing about the Albinaurics is that not all of them die when their legs stop working. Most of them do (like Albus) but also most of the Albinaurics we meet are heavily emaciated and old. The two Albinaurics we meet that cant use their legs, but are still alive, are Commander Gaius and Latenna. Latenna seems young and fit, and while we can’t see what Gaius looks like, we can assume he’s in good shape as well. So loosing the use of your legs seems to be more of a “final nail in the coffin” type deal than an actual death sentence
