((I did some blog maintenance: transferred all of my general rules onto the hub and kept only the blog-specific bits on the sideblogs themselves.
Nothing changed about the rules, but some general things weren’t listed on all my blogs before so they might still be worth a reread, if yall can be bothered. Still a text wall though. Sorry about that.))

@harmonicrecord: If Fubuki had to pick a DND class, which one would he go with?
“To be, or to play?”
“I am something like a modern bard, and I wouldn’t trade this job for anything, but roleplaying is supposed to be about experiencing what your own life can’t offer, right? How about a brave knight in shining armor, with a mighty sword and a noble steed... a cute prince... I’m sorry, what were we talking about?”

Johan had never been one to idealize the Pro Duelist world - he knew that there was nothing truly perfect in life and as amazing as the thought had seemed, it would surely have its own shortcomings as well.
Whether or not he, or even Judai for that matter, could thrive in such an environment he didn’t know.
He certainly didn’t want Judai to feel under constant pressure and becoming a Pro was sure to bring about just that - the expectant fans, the prospect of going up against some of the world’s best duelists. Was it something he really wanted for himself - or his friends, really? The older man brought up a good point - whatever path Judai decided to take or how he decided to handle it, wasn’t his own.
“No, Judai’s choice is up to him and him alone as mine is for me as well,” He noted solemnly, closing his eyes. “However, what I will choose is to support Judai through whatever path he chooses to embark on - as a friend and a rival,”
"And what is your choice for yourself?” Ryo asked. All that talk about Judai had him more irritated than he’d like to be. He could practically hear Fubuki’s grating laughter in his head, could imagine the comments he’d get if his friend knew how annoyed he was at- what? Judai being on good terms with people?
Now that was just completely ridiculous.
“You said you’d like to duel me some day. Will it be in the League?” Ryo’s finger brushed against the top of his deckbox. There was an unspoken challenge in the gesture, but he seemed to think better of it, let his hand fall away and added instead, “I hope it will.”

anonymous: A roomba arrives for Asuia, carrying with it a toaster.
The toaster is ignored for once. The roomba, however, speaks to Asuia’s dormant parental instincts. It does not make it home that day.
Or any other day, for that matter.
(Its new nickname is Core.)

“Nope.” A shake of his head to go along with his answer.
“Not even once. I loathe th’idea of not bein’ there in case Marnie, Yell or Spikemuth needs me. Even though Yell is there fer Marns, I don’t like bein’ too far away from her, y’know?”
Piers then looked out the window, resting his chin in his hand.
“Do you travel a lot?”
"I used to,” Fubuki said easily, as though the idea wasn’t attached to painful memories. Happy memories, that were decidedly in the past. “Not as much nowadays, but sometimes work demands it, and it’s always lots of fun to see new places and bring smiles to a new audience.”
A thoughtful expression crossed his face then. “Or... well, I’m not sure if it counts, but... I did move here from another region, so... maybe I’m travelling right now?” A shrug, accompanied by a chuckle. “If home is where our sisters are, maybe I’m still a foreigner here as well.”

anonymous: Ryo and Fubuki get one chocolate box for Palentine's Day each, from an anonymous sender.
Fubuki already guessed that Ryo - with the many admirers that his reputation had always brought - had also gotten his fair share of gifts, but his theory is only confirmed when Ryo approaches him, pushes the box he received into Fubuki’s arms and says, “I don’t want these.”
Fubuki just laughs of course. “I always knew I’d be the one to bring out your romantic side,” he teases in spite of the death glare sent his way. It’s a little sad, he thinks, that these gestures mean nothing to Ryo, but he’s come to terms with the fact that his friend is just like that a long time ago.

“.......” Asuia eats the box.

“Ruin him…?” Johan couldn’t stop himself from arching a brow at this, wondering if there was something about the Pro world that he didn’t know about. He knew only what he’d read about and seen on television. Was there more to the world of being a Pro Duelist…?
…Still if anyone could handle adversity, surely Judai could.
However, the fact of the matter was that he simply didn’t have enough knowledge about the world of the Pro League to properly refute any of this. Ryo seemed to have firsthand knowledge of being a Pro, so he would know better than anyone.
However, his viewpoint still seemed a little pessimistic.
Had his own experience been that terrible…
“Judai thrives under pressure in my opinion, I just hope he never has to deal with constant pressure.”
Ryo’s eyes narrowed the slightest bit. He’d been looking at Johan before, but now he was completely focussed on him, scanning his features, his posture, mentally cataloguing all the details.
He couldn’t help but wonder how this kid would handle the pro world, then.
After a few seconds of silence, as Ryo contemplated those words - Did Judai do well under pressure? He’d cracked during their graduation duel, but bigger things than that had been at stake, and Judai had stood his ground, though it was just as possible he hadn’t really understood what he stood to lose at the time - before he said, “Maybe. But we don’t get a choice in the matter.”
The corners of his mouth turned downwards in a grimace. He shouldn’t be paying much mind to the opinion of a person who barely knew Judai, and yet... It annoyed him.

teamyellboss:
A playful bat of his eyelashes! He folds his hands under his chin and kind poses. “Aye? Effortless y’say?” Winks! Then chuckles as he sits back once more.
… It… IS a ways away, yeah. And that honestly terrifies him. So far, he’s been going GOOD at beating those anxieties away. He’d glance out the window as he pondered the distance for a moment…
“They talked me int’it.” A sigh as he looks back to Fubuki. “I’m a retired Gym Leader who has never once left Galar despite all th’concert invites an’ th’like. But Team Yell an’ Marns talked me int’this.”
Fubuki’s expression morphed into one of surprise, eyebrows shooting up behind his bangs. He’d always been a very expressive person, and never saw any reason to try and change this about himself.
“Not even once?” he asked, tone matching his face. As someone who loved to travel - someone who’d moved his entire life halfway across the globe, really - such a thing was hard to imagine. “It’s a good thing they did. There are a lot of great places to visit in this world.”
As the shock faded, Fubuki’s smile returned.
