I contributed a review of Anthony Green's new record, Beautiful Things to Vestra Vera Press! Check it out!
Written by Josh Vasquez
Beautiful Things is Anthony Green’s sophomore solo release. Since his first solo record, Avalon and Circa Survive’s major label debut, Blue Sky Noise, Green has gone through an array of hardships and triumphs with which to fuel this record. From the birth of his...

Next Gen XBOX Rumored to Use Touch Screen Controller
According to XBox World magazine, the next generation Microsoft console will have the traditional XBOX buttons and stick but will also include a full HD touch screen. The report also says the controller will have multiple functions such as a remote for your TV, an Internet browser, and of course provide touch screen buttons or displays for video games. This is just a rumor at the moment so nothing is confirmed. What do you think of this? Is this too much like Nintendo's Wii U?

Diablo III Creators Narrow Down Possible Release Date.
Blizzard announced today that the highly anticipated Diablo III will be released in the second quarter of 2012. This could be anywhere between about April and June and although it is not an actual release date, it does give the fans a little something which, of course, is better than nothing.

Artist: All Time Low (Alex Gaskarth)
Song: "Remembering Sunday (Live)"
I chose this song today because yesterday I played it to audition to play a charity event benefiting St Jude's Children's Hospital. I made it in so I'll be playing a short acoustic set. All Time Low is one of my favorite bands. I didn't really like any poppy music before I got into them a few years ago so they are the band that kind of opened up the pop door to me (I used to be pretty closed minded when it came to music, now I like almost every genre.)

Artist: Wake Up, Dolly
Song: "Feel What I Feel"
Wake Up, Dolly is another local band from my city of San Jose, California. They are a great alternative, pop/punk band. They recently released their first full length, A Shallow View on What Counts, and it's a great listen. Clearly influenced by early 2000 punk/emo bands like Taking Back Sunday. Check em out and show their facebook some love!

Artist: Mike Shinoda
Song: I don't know the name of it but it's the one in the trailer! haha
Mike Shinoda is one of my favorite musicians. His most recent project has been doing the entire score for an Indonesian film called, The Raid. It is being shown at Sundance film festival right now and I am not there so I haven't seen the film but the trailer looks pretty insane and Mike Shinoda's score sounds great. It definitely sounds like Mike Shinoda's work. If you're familiar at all with Fort Minor and early Linkin Park, you'll recognize that this is classic Mike Shinoda.

Artist: 8yr old Juliet
Song: "My First Hardcore Song"
So I definitely had to post this song today because it's EVERYWHERE! This girl is adorable and amazing. If my kids are half this cool, I'll be one proud father.

Artist: LIGHTS
Song: "Romance Is..."
Probably my favorite female solo artist. While I do love her albums, her acoustic work is where she really shines. Her acoustic work and live performance prove that she is one of the few pop artists who are much more than just catchy singles. LIGHTS is truly talented.

Song: [REMOVED FOR COPYRIGHT INFRINGEMENT]

Artist: Anthony Green
Song: "Get Yours While You Can"
I told you you'd be hearing a lot of Anthony Green from me this year. Today, his sophomore album was officially released. I could have posted any song from it because it is all amazing but I'll just go with the single since I recommend the entire album anyway. This is real, honest music. Anthony Green pours his soul out like never before in this new album, Beautiful Things. Do yourself a giant favor and buy it.

Artist: Toby Turner
Song: "Sugar Cane Song"
Toby Tobuscus Joe Turner is one of my favorite YouTube creators ever and this episode is a clear example of why. On his Let's Play channel while playing Minecraft, Toby busted out this amazing, completely improvised piece of epicosity to the music in the game. And not only that, it tells a heartbreaking story! He tends to sing a lot in his videos, too so you should subscribe to him. Bless your face. If you sneezed during this reading of text, bless you. Peace off, BOOP!

Artist: Koji Kondo and The Legend of Zelda Symphony Orchestra
Song: "Ballad of the Goddess (Skyward Sword)"
I've been a Zelda fan since I was a young child. Back then I never really beat any of the games or got much further than the first temple but for some reason I just always claimed to love them. Then when I got older and actually went back and beat all of the games, I realized that I was right to claim my love for these games because they are the best ever. Anyway, yesterday I just finally beat Skyward Sword and today I bought my tickets for the Symphony of the Goddesses Concert in San Francisco!

Artist: Michael Jackson
Song: "Burn this Disco Out"
In just a couple hours I will be going to see Michael Jackson's Immortal Cirque du Soleil world tour. I'm so excited. I've been a Michael Jackson since I was a little kid and this will be the next best thing to seeing him live since I never got the chance during his life.

Artist: Pantheon
Song: "Coming Up For Air"
Another song from a band out of my hometown of San Jose, California. Pantheon is an amazing indie rock band and I am actually about to go see them play which is why they are my band of the day. Check 'em out.

Artist: Jaime Preciado
Song: "Believe You Me"
Jaime Preciado is better known as the bassist to the post-hardcore band, Pierce the Veil. PTV is one of my personal favorite bands in that scene because they really stand out in the sea of generic hardcore and metalcore bands. But Jaime Preciado's solo work is much softer, acoustic pop and he has an amazing voice. Check it out.
