Hey, i love the colours in your art and how you paint light!

Do you have like a technique to selecting colors or any tips on how to get a better grasp of collar theory in general? I struggle with selecting the right coluors soooo muuuch😭

Thank uuu 🥺 I like to fill in the flat colors super basic with no lighting (local color!) then do the lighting and shadows with multiply/color dodge/ hard light layers on top. This way I can easily try different color schemes in a non-destructive way and change things around at any point :D

I have a more in depth step by step of my process on my patreon, but basically, I will fill the whole piece with a multiply layer giving it a strong color vibe for the shadows. Then on top I will draw in the lighting on color dodge/hard light etc. I like focusing on the shape of light instead of the shadows cus i find it easiet to visualize idk
