Lessons Learned from the Techno pitch
After days of brainstorming, research, presentation practice, and contemplating if my techno idea was really good enough, my output was finally accepted. The past couple of meetings with our professor for our techno idea pitch saw a lot of ideas being rejected while some were accepted. There were a lot of times where an idea seemed to be novel, interesting, and realistic. But it still would not be enough to get accepted. From what I have observed, the techno ideas accepted by our professor were really exceptional, as the ideas stood out from the rest and had novel features.
The previous techno pitch meetings reminded me to do intensive research about my techno idea and to get ready for the tough questions that my professor will be asking me. My techno idea was a health-related device. Given that many health devices already exist, I had to think of novel and unique features that I could implement in my technology. Moreover, I also had to practice the delivery of my techno-idea presentation so that my professor and my classmates would get intrigued and like it.
On the day of my second techno pitch, I was fully prepared, and I was confident that my idea would get accepted because of its novelty. During my presentation, I presented with confidence, and I could see that my classmates were impressed by my idea. Also, I was able to answer our professor’s questions about my techno idea. Subsequently, when my presentation was coming to an end, it was time for the class and for our professor to get my idea accepted or rejected. Thankfully, it was accepted. I was delighted that my hard work and intensive research had finally paid off.
In hindsight, working on my techno ideas has taught me a lot of valuable lessons, particularly in terms of persistence and innovation. I've learned that just having an idea isn't enough; you have to do thorough research, assess all options, and go for uniqueness. The process of improving my pitch and anticipating difficult questions has improved my communication skills and taught me the value of being prepared. Furthermore, observing my professor's assessment and judgment has given me insight into what actually defines a great techno idea. Moving on, the only part that’s left in order to successfully finish this course is to write a business plan for my techno idea. The lessons I have learned from this experience would definitely help me in the second part of this course, which is “Technopreneurship 2.” As I move forward, I will bring with me the lessons I've gained from this experience, willing to take on new challenges and push the boundaries of creativity.

Pirates of the Silicon Valley reaction paper
The film "Pirates of Silicon Valley" tells the narrative of how two computing industry titans, Steve Jobs and Bill Gates, acquired traction and achieved success. This movie accurately depicts Apple and Microsoft’s rise to the top of the industry. In this reflection, I will be focusing on Steve Jobs’ notable path to success and agonizing setbacks.
From being a college dropout to building a multi-billion-dollar tech company, Steve Jobs has done what many could never do in their lifetime. In the beginning of the film, it shows Steve Jobs’ creativity and marketing skills and his friend and business partner, Steve Wozniak’s passion for electronics. In addition, at this point in the movie, Jobs and Wozniak were looking for ways to make money.
One factor that contributed to Steve Jobs' success was his hustler's mindset, which helped him earn a living. A hustler's mindset is essential for entrepreneurs since it demonstrates drive and perseverance. Furthermore, he was a great speaker, which added to his success. Jobs had outstanding social and marketing skills, since he was able to capture people's interest in his product, which they regarded as the first personal computer, resulting in huge profits. In addition, Jobs was also competitive, as one of his biggest goals was to crush IBM, as he thought that if they gained control of the computer market, innovation could stop there.
In addition, another factor that contributed to Steve Jobs’ success as a technopreneur was his vision and innovation. He envisioned products that consumers did not know they needed until they were created, like personal computers and the Macintosh. For me, this is what it genuinely means to be a technopreneur. To achieve success, one must first have a clear vision for their product and consumers. Moreover, Steve Jobs also possessed good leadership skills. Steve only wanted the best for the company, so he was a little tough on his employees. This tough but great leadership is evident in Apple's rapid rise from a humble garage business to a computer industry leader in a relatively short period of time. This would obviously not be possible without Jobs’ strong leadership skills.
Ultimately, Jobs only wanted the best for this company. This is backed by one of Jobs’ favorite sayings, “Good artist copy, great artists steal.” Steve Jobs and his company stole and/or claimed revolutionary computer ideas from Xerox. This further boosted Apple's success, and the rest is history.
Behind the façade of Steve Jobs’ success, he also had some setbacks, which were caused by plenty of negative factors. Firstly, Jobs was arrogant. This sometimes led him to make decisions that were not in line with the goals of the company. Secondly, Jobs also lacked empathy. Jobs was sometimes rude and demanding to his employees and business partners. This led to conflicts as some employees and potential investors left him and his company. This includes his first business partner and the great mind behind it all, Steve Wozniak.
With insights gained from the movie, I see myself as a risk-taking and innovative technopreneur with strong leadership skills. Moreover, I would like to take the same career path that Steve Jobs took because his career path was a challenging and exciting one. Someday, I would also like to be challenged, as overcoming these obstacles would make success much sweeter.

The Technopreneur Mindset and skills
We all know what an entrepreneur is, right? An entrepreneur is someone who creates products or services for consumers. These products and services are intended to make consumers' lives more efficient and enjoyable. A technopreneur, on the other hand, is someone who pursues the technological side of entrepreneurship. These are the people with creative, bright, and logical minds, as I believe that the tech industry is one of the most difficult industries to enter, let alone succeed in, due to its fierce competition.
According to our professor, being a successful technopreneur requires the necessary skills, resources, and work ethic. Furthermore, even if you do not have the necessary resources, you must be able to create or obtain them, as these resources can position you for a more successful technopreneurship journey. These resources are a huge advantage for an aspiring technopreneur. These are human, environmental, and financial resources. Human resources are vital to having a successful technopreneurship career, as these are the people that will help your techno venture in a lot of ways. It can be through collaboration, manpower, and intellectual contribution. Environmental resources are also important, as this will allow you to be immersed in the vast world of technology. With the right environmental resources, one can learn how to successfully grow his technobusiness, just like a plant in its natural and best environment. Moreover, a technopreneur also needs financial resource, as without this, no business idea would be successful. Thus, a technopreneur should possess the necessary networking and persuasion skills in order to attract investors.
With the knowledge given to me by my ever-excellent professor, I am now aware of the skills and resources that I need to possess in order to become a successful technopreneur. I have learned that a technopreneur’s mindset is one of a kind, as it goes beyond the normal domain of entrepreneurship. Further, I am now more driven to have a better mindset in order to become successful if I ever decide to pursue a career in technopreneurship.

First techno pitch
Today was an exquisite day, but it was full of nervousness for some of us. This is because today is the day where we will be pitching our techno ideas to our professor for the first time. The two sections of 1st year IT students gathered at the AVR to witness the pitching of technopreneurship ideas. When the students from both sections started pitching, everybody in the room became very eager to listen to their wonderful and innovative ideas.
The first presenters of the techno pitch articulated their ideas quite well. They presented with confidence, and they also sounded like they put a lot of thought and research into their ideas. As audiences, my classmates and I are very impressed with their techno ideas, and I thought that most of their ideas were going to get accepted by our professor. However, it seemed like our professor was the only one who was not really impressed by most of the techno ideas presented. I assume that it is because our professor wanted an idea that is something new and something more, and that is also possible and realistic.
For today’s first techno idea pitch, no ideas were accepted just yet, including mine. All of the ideas presented were either completely rejected or rejected and have to be improved. My techno idea was rejected because it still has to be improved. As the techno-pitch concluded, many of us gathered insights on how to properly present our ideas so that they would be accepted by our professor.
I learned a lot of valuable lessons from our first day of techno pitch. I learned what I need to improve in order for my techno idea to be presented, and I also learned how to better articulate my ideas for a clearer presentation. Moreover, I also learned the importance of doing my own research, so that I can further improve my techno idea.

Knowing technopreneurship
When the worlds of technology and entrepreneurship collide, it is called technopreneurship. I'm a first-year college student taking up the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology major in Business Technology Management. For this second semester, I’ll be taking up the course technopreneurship. The concept of using technology for entrepreneurial gains is something that I am very familiar with. I already had an idea of what to expect from this course, but I was not expecting the challenging yet fun activities that I would be immersing myself in in this subject.
During our first few discussions for this course, our excellent professor first gave us an overview of the activities, academic works, and projects that are involved in this subject. Upon knowing the overview of the course, I feel a little anxious due to the fact that the academic work appears to be challenging. However, I also feel motivated because I know that it is another opportunity to challenge myself and achieve things that I will surely be proud of. Furthermore, during our first few meetings, our professor also introduced to us how this subject was meticulously and excellently developed through collaboration with other IT experts.
The topic that I particularly enjoyed discussing with our professor during our first few meetings on this subject was the vibrant and triumphant history of technopreneurship at our university. Our professor showed us the accomplishments of his technopreneurship students from many years before. My classmates and I witnessed the accomplishments and excellence of previous technopreneurship students, and we were left inspired and motivated. Overall, our first few meetings were full of fruitful knowledge and inspiring success stories. And I am now eager to learn more about this subject.
