Why did nobody tell me until now that drawing with a pen feels smoother than with a pencil. Lol.

Ngl tho, made me feel hella anxious to make mistakes I couldn't cover up.

Been some time with my last post. I got... distracted.

Tried my hand at portrait sketch. I didn't copy any specific person but just a combination of features as practice.

I'll probably try doing expressions next time.

I tried to copy a selfie I took as Red Riding Hood, my costume from last year's Halloween.

Tabris-vs-Archdemon-fanart-lined-Nov-2022 is the current file name on my computer. I lined it with a 0.7pt black gel pen, then scanned it.

I then tried to color with watercolor... that didn't work out, I chose the wrong colors and ruined the whole thing (plus that's on normal paper so adding more water would poke holes in it).

I want to color it digitally. I was trying that with Gimp but I'm new to digital (actually new to art in general) and so I haven't grasped the tools yet? A friend of mine also suggested to switch over to Krita. I will check it out on the weekend.

First time to use watercolor as an adult.

The colors are still uneven and it's a bit out of control where the color would be lighter or darker (how do people even).

Sharing this WIP of my redraw for this project. I'm quite happy with my improvement.

Planning to line it, add background, and maybe color. I want to digitalize my work but still getting used to it.

In case relevant, I was trying to draw my female elf character (Tabris) dealing the final blow at the final battle with the Archdemon in Dragon Age Origins.

I'll call it "Skater" for now. Finished coloring today, 10 November 2022.

Planning to add a skate park background, in the meantime, I'm happy enough with the subject.

Got myself a new drawing tablet! Which is quite nice. I am still getting used to it. Here is a short vid of me practicing the basic shapes on it, and a doodle afterwards.

Will keep drawing on paper as well though (especially since I can only draw on paper while at work)
