Hello all,

Mod Pudding here. I wanted to give a heads up that the current mod team no longer has the energy or time to run this fandom event.

But never fear, we have lined up an energetic new team who will take over this event... just as soon as I find the energy to hand everything over to them. But I'm making a big effort today to get it all sorted.

It's been an absolute pleasure organising this big bang for you the last couple of years. My hope is that this will continue on with the new mod team so the fandom has a point of fun and connection and just as Axel and Roxas never gave up on getting back to each other so too will this BigBang live on, always making its way back for fandom to engage with.

Wishing you all the absolute best and I look forward to seeing more content coming out of this space in the future.

Artist sign-ups close Feb 28th

Don't forget that the Artist sign-ups close in 2 days (Feb 28th). If you want to participate in some fandom fun come along. Sign up. As an artist, you don't have to commit until you have seen the story synopses. How will you see them? Only by signing up.

After Feb 28th you’ll get emailed a document outlining all the proposed stories the BigBang has to offer and you then get to pick your top 4 choices that you might want to draw for.

We’ll assign you to one (or two) or your preferred choices and you get to discuss the story with the writer and figure out what kind of art or scene you’d like to work on.

Often times having an artist pal along can help the writer to solidify visual ideas in their heads that are then translated and incorporated into the story, which is pretty cool.

So how about it? You might as well sign-up. If you don’t like any of the story ideas, no sweat. Don’t pick any and you are good to go on your way. Though we do ask that you email or DM us so we know you have withdrawn your interest in the project. But that’s it.

Beta Sign-ups Closing Soon

Beta sign-ups are closing Feb 28th 2022. That's VERY SOON! Why be a beta, you might ask? Well, you get sneak peeks of all the amazing stories the BigBang has to offer, you get to see the incredible art before anyone else, and depending on writers needs, all that’s required from you, from us project mods, is that you can read through the fic and point out pesky spelling mistakes that the writer will inevitably miss even after 100 read-throughs and changing the font to Comic Sans and back a bunch of times. Sometimes a writer might ask you for a little bit more if you are interested in giving more feedback. Things like your opinion as a reader (what you thought or felt), sometimes they might want some more pointed feedback on whether an element in the story works or doesn’t. You and the writers get to set the terms on what feedback is needed and can be given, as it is very much a collaborative process. 

But to reiterate, the only thing mods expect from betas is to read through at least one story that piques your interest, and give really basic feedback around spelling mistakes, because the more eyes on those unruly, sneaky words, the better.

Other than that, by joining as a beta you get to hang out in a discord server (if you want) with a bunch of very chill and very nice people, who all share in the love of AkuRoku.
