so.. it takes caspian finding out that he's a carbon copy of an eccentric genius CEO and that his entire life being raised in an abusive household was actually two actors who had to stage every single part of his life, for him to find the cure to the UI flaw and defeat the original version of himself from killing millions
and it takes maddie seeing her father die three times, seeing her lover die, then coming back 20 years later to die again, having her son bleed out in her arms, and having no one she loves in the physical world, for her to create her own universe via massive computer powered by the sun where billions of simulations run and become a god
i mean.. i guess those are ways to write tortured geniuses
#maddie kim#caspian keyes#pantheon amc#btw are we chill with the fact that maddie casually created a massive computer powered by the sun that she exploded#and had a UI for every person who ever existed and created simulations with it#shes crazy for that#lowkey love her for that#pantheon netflix#pantheon show

Y'all I gotta say something about the new tomb raider show. As some who played all the survivor trilogy games, i enjoyed the show, the animation was really nice, the fighting sequences were cool and interesting, and the plot wasn’t bad, but nothing about this is survivor trilogy lara croft at all.
like they had lara’s character development completely revolve around roth’s death, don't get me wrong, it’s nice they had her navigate her grief/guilt with roth because they didn’t do it in the games, but they don’t mention ANYTHING else that happened on yamatai like alex or grim or what happened afterwards in Kitezh and Paititi? i know they’re trying to make the show open for new fans to understand what’s happening without making them have to play all three games but, it just doesn’t feel right at all. If you’re going to make a show continuing a trilogy, you at LEAST want to mention what happened in all three games right? like they mention trinity twice but it’s so vague. it’s almost an after thought, like ‘oh yeah, there was this ancient shadow organization lara had to defeat’. I just think it wouldn’t kill them to also incorporate rise and shadow of the tomb raider and how she’s been coping with everything she had to do to stop trinity in those games.
also side note, why did they not properly introduce zip’s character? i never played the classic games so i’m not familiar with his character but like.. shouldn’t we get a back story on how they met or?? like not even a hi or hello, just, 'hey i know how to use cool technology and i’m totally cool with the fact magical artifacts exists and lara is trying to stop the world from bursting into flames' like??? HELLO?!?
i see so many people talk about how they weren't true to the source material for zip's character. like yeah, they messed up the main character's source material too. how did netflix mess up this bad.
#lara croft#tomb raider anime#tomb raider netflix#tomb raider the legend of lara croft#please tell me i'm not the only one who feels this way#despite all this i'm still watching the second season...#i'm afraid no amount of bad writing will stop me from loving this girl
