My impressions of the Fontaine Archon Quest

4.2 spoilers under cut

It feels like the writers couldn't decide whether they wanted the story to be about Furina or Neuvillette -- and it can be about them both, but in the quest, it really didn't feel like it. It felt like Furina and Neuvillette were constantly competing for the spotlight, and it ended up being confusing and diluting the roles of everyone involved

Also, the whale stuff was kind of stupid. And I think Childe should have had a bigger role, but I love that the Fatui were our allies this time.

I also think that the story would have benefited from the prophecy being more... destructive. Yes, it destroyed Poisson-- that's the only thing that happened. And then the whale came and it made the prophecy feel even more stupid.

Also, Skirk's design is terrible.

Overall, loved the archon quest.

Ok I'm confused.

I know why most people were targeted (Maurice, Sandra and Virginia's involvement in covering up George's death, Murphy seemed more like an accident in the way that he wasn't intended to be killed but rather got in the way, etc)

But I can't for the life of me figure out why Roller Ricky or Eugene Stine were targeted? Eugene seems like a scared teenager and Roller Ricky is just a Guy?

If anyone could shed some light on that (especially on Eugene, he seemed very disjointed from the rest of the callers) it'd be much appreciated :3

So there's been a lot of confusion since IGN published that article, but Famitsu has come to save the day by publishing a preview of their own interview. Which is much, much clearer than what IGN came out with.

Atlus clarified that The Journey's FES content is in the game. The only thing out is The Answer.

They also clarified that they have not altered the scenario or the characters.

They're adding a new system that lets you hang out with specific characters. So we'll have this and S-Links.

The full Famitsu interview is coming out on June 15. They likely just released this preview to fix the damage done by IGN's reporting lol
