Can IFTTT mix html in the ingredients? If so, then this should be a text post on my Tumblr, with this tweet at the title AND the "created at" timestamp as a hyperlink in the body.

I think it's official. Text post it is. Kinda sucks, but by removing the hyperlink on the title attribute on the theme, it's kinda the same thing. At least this way I get the date too.
