We will be hosting the event a little later this year, from August 5th through August 11th, but we are officially moving forward and announcing our prompts for 2024! Thank you to everyone who stuck with us through the delay and we can't wait to see what everyone will create for the 2024 event!

Hello all! Instead of asking about a new date via google survey, we have decided to create a poll right here on tumblr! In order to give all of our participants time, we have pushed USUK Week back to late summer/early fall. This time the theme was “space” 💫✨🌙

Hetalia, the whole of it, has half as many fics total on ao3 (~53k) as just the destiel fics also on ao3 (~114k). The most popular heta ship being usuk makes up just over 7.4k of that total. Fruk sits at 4.4k and rusame at 3.2k fics. Again, at least on ao3, just the most popular ship for a large fandom like supernatural has more than double what the entire hetalia fandom has to offer.

If you feel like your favorite concept doesn't get enough love or fics or whatever, its because collectively we have not done nearly as much work in recent fandom memory. If the characterizations in your head don't get written by the 20 active fic writers in your language, that means you have to write it. If that seems daunting or boring or hard, why would you expect it from other people?

Hype up anyone making things you like, and then do what you can to create something you wanna see. Join the creative writing guild that is fandom.
