To all of my naivety, I will tell you this

All of the accomplishments mean nothing compared to how you view yourself.

At the peak of every mountain you will see other mountains. You will climb many and find yourself unsatisfied.

There is a lake where the foothills touch. Go and sit with your reflection. 

Stop your hands from throwing any stones.

why time feels weird

We can’t talk in specificities, like trauma happens in an instant. No, it’s not something that happens to you. It’s something that keeps happening. 

I know what my grip looks like on a doorknob. I’ve made decisions before.

Mask, suppress, spin around. Turn the dial on your mechanical heart. Slow the pace to barely breathing. 

I saw a hallway and walked into it. It’s not the event that scares me, it’s how far I’ve fallen. My deliberation. 

When I turn around I see my face. Letters echo from my mouth, they say 

The you inside of you is soft and can’t handle the outside world. The you inside of you has wants and needs the outside world can’t provide, accept, or understand

You said, retreat. You didn’t say how far. 

At the end of an endless hallway we find other people. We grope at each other in the dark. 

Sometimes I picture your face and only see your hands. 

When I hold your wrist I can tell what time it is. And I think I’m falling back into my body.
