One day, a humble sculptor named Pygmalion prayed to Aphrodite. He had carved a statue of a woman so beautiful that he had fallen in love with his creation. “Oh, great goddess,” he pleaded, “grant life to my statue so I may love her as she deserves.”

Aphrodite, moved by his sincerity, visited the sculptor's workshop. She touched the statue with her delicate hand, and to Pygmalion's amazement, the statue came to life. The woman, now named Galatea, opened her eyes and smiled. Aphrodite blessed their union, teaching the world that true love could transform the lifeless into something extraordinary.
