The blog where I put all my fandom/nerdy non-animal related stuff. Can't say it's 99% Star Wars-related anymore. More like 99% Elder Scrolls-related. I love Anakin Skywalker/Vaderkin, and I am an Elven supremacist.

I know AI art is a controversial topic (personally I'm fairly neutral, I like it as a tool, I hate how it's used to fake things and fool people), but I game MagicStudio some prompts to make Snow Elves, and here are my favorites.
I likes to give elves in general very long ears, but these were great. While it didn't do them as Skyrim Snow Elves per se, but rather "Snow + Elf", I love this as ideas of what other individuals could have looked like, other than Gelebor and Vyrthur, and the armor style of the Vale.
Also, with beards because... why not.

I love the style and the pose and the face and the background but what you did to his hair is absolute sacrilege. 😭

No one talks about how atmorans brought the Dragon Cult when they came to Skyrim, and maybe the snow elves didn't want a dragon or dragon priest to have the Eye of Magnus and that's why they also attacked (I know there're more reasons to it).
It is said that initially Snow Elves welcomed them, and even traded with Atmorans. Until relationships got really tense, culminating with the Night of Tears. Perhaps tensions were high because dragons were expanding their territory and demanding that everyone worshipped them.
We know Atmorans were having a civil war back in their homeland. A religious civil war. Yes, again. Precisely because of dragons. People were tired of been forced into servitud, and wanted to keep worshipping their other gods in peace (Moth, fox, hawk, whale, dragon etc. Latter in time they molded the gods with their animals representation), instead of just dragons. Like a prelude to the dragon wars. But somehow these cultists won and Atmora froze (not just cold, but it is said that also frozen in time).
In my opinion Snow Elves, did not want any of that Dragon Cult bullshit and fought against it. Yet with dragons and the Thu'um on the atmoran side, their magic wasn't enough to defeat them.
We know so little, and it's the rhetoric of the winners. After all the only information we have of that conflict is of Nordic sources.

are we sure the original falmer are actually all gone? did we maybe just lose them in the snow?

Gelebor reading an Ayleid reference text.
There isn't any more Falmer text than the Falmer stone, but Ayleidoon is very similar to the Falmer language (probably mutually intelligible).

I don't know how they did it in only some ten minutes of screentime.
It's the mystery of his people, his own origins and story wrapped in mists of millennia, him being (possibly) the only one left of an ancient race we thought we'd never see. It's how he looks like an alabaster statue come to life, his role as a guardian and knight, his voice even, and above all, his uniquely positive, empathetic and hopeful temperament wrapped up in this pious ancient knight.
If any of those things were different, I don't think he'd be as enchanting as he is.
But what more can you want than a 4000 year old undying snowy elf paladin with a spellbinding voice who's also gorgeous?
❄️And again my art with him❄️
Gelebor has a certain magnetism for me. I have never liked a character from anywhere for so long, and this craving for him has been for more than five years. It is likely that his history, the history of his brother and the history of the people remain completely lost to us. But this is a huge layer of the history of Skyrim itself, and so Bethesda let it all go with a wonderful fleeting moment. I feel sorry for Gelebor that they did this to him. After all, as I understand it, he was originally calculated as a companion in the game, but this, apparently, was abandoned. Fortunately there is a mod that I enjoy using.
But it's scary to imagine what fate awaits him after completing the quest. Will he leave in the end? Or will he stay there, in the Forgotten Valley? It hurts me to think about it.
#Gelebor#glad people are still talking and drawing him after all this time#I thought I came too late to the party in 2020

❄️My longest art, but not finished yet. I want to adequately portray my favorite character from the universe of The Elder Scrolls, namely the snow elf Gelebor. Incredibly beautiful creature, destined to remain one of a kind ❄️

It is hard to resist drawing him shirtless once you start.
Gelebor, a character that has remained unrevealed for us, like all the snow elves of past times. How that judgment day actually took place is also hidden from us.
I have long wanted to draw something like this with his participation, especially since Halloween is coming soon 👻

@tescheer Week 4: Blizzard
Snow Elf headcanon time! (ft. A younger Gelebor and Vyrthur)
We don’t know a lot about the Snow Elf religious practices, but the sun-inspired motifs and imagery in a place that probably gets nasty winter weather and little to no sunlight for several months of the year intrigues me. I like to think the folks at the Chantry of Auri-El think of winter as a more contemplative time and a time to test and strengthen one’s faith.

Gelebor's signature, in the ancient Falmeri script. I tried to make it look like red ink.
Obviously I don't know what "Knight-Paladin" would sound like in Falmeri, I only know the closely related Ayleidoon word "Pelin" is "Knight", so this is only his name.
