I want to cry. They hate her. They really do hate her. Look at this cute, flattering picture of Rena Rogue. She’s smiling. She’s pointing at Chat Noir. Volpina had SO MANY cute scenes but they chose a transitional frame where she glares at the camera and looks awkward.

And you know what? There’s no good reason to pit them against each other. No real reason other than to foreshadow what’s going to happen in the show. You’re supposed to like Rena Rouge. You’re supposed to hate Volpina. Rena Rouge is supposed to be pretty to you. Volpina is supposed to be ugly and fake. 

And what did she do wrong? Why did they create a character and pour so much undeserved hate onto her? She did nothing that Chloe or even Marinette wouldn’t do. She is beautiful. She is flirtatious, graceful and intelligent. She is a teenager with a crush, a girl who moves so often she doesn’t have the opportunity to make real friends. A girl who had understandable reasons to want everyone to like her. And she will be shoehorned into the role of a villain because apparently there just HAS to be conflict between women at all times. 

And it just shouldn’t??? Be that way??? There’s no reason Chloe shouldn’t be able to get a redemption arc without someone taking her place. There’s no reason we should have to have Rena versus Volpina. Girls do not exist to constantly bicker with one another! Contrary to popular belief we can and do love and appreciate one another EVEN WHEN WE HAVE THE SAME DAMN CRUSH!!!

I’m just so hurt and angry about this, I logged onto Twitter for the first time in MONTHS to be greeted to this fuckery and I just don’t know how to feel about Tom or this show right now.

What I say: “I’m fine.”

What I mean: It pisses me off that a lot of people hate Lila just because she likes Adrien. A female is more than her crush. And Lila is just someone that happened to have a crush on the very nice and cute boy that Marinette has a crush on like why are people hating on her for something she can’t control? And then others are using the excuse that she lied to Chat and Ladybug and to her classmates when first: SHE WAS AKUMATIZED THAT ISN’T ACTUALLY HOW SHE IS GUYS W T F. And second: she’s from another country, knows NO ONE in that school, and probably wanted to make friends on her first day and did that because she doesn’t know how to. Just please stop demonizing young female characters. Just like please. She’s literally like fifteen and since this show is aimed at a younger audience do you really want young girls to get the impression that they should hate someone because they like their crush too? Like please stop this.
