I play with computers and pencils. Sometimes this makes pictures.

From jerky animatic to smooth colourful game; some of the earliest work built for Flowy, the game that helps stop panic attacks - and gosh, a lots changed since it looked liked this! With my animation background, I like to make an animatic before we jump into clean art and code production. We can play around and make decisions before putting our pieces into play. Sometimes it’s pretty useful!

This little guy was made for our Flowy game. His job is to show the best breathing to help stop a panic attack. We’ve moved on from using this design, but I still think he’s cute! Below is the notes I used to communicate how he should plug into the game. These are meant for the programmer, just in case you're wondering how we put the guy together!

Flowy Boat Sprites
The boat for the Flowy game I'm working on uses fancy 3D in our not so fancy 2D game engine. The sail and boat are 3D models built using Blender, made flat and isometric and spun 360 degrees. I then grab the frames and make a 360 frame spritesheet - and that's how you do 3D in 2D - like the old games used to do! Follow the game blog over here! It helps stop panic attacks :)

A little film I contributed animation and cleanup to. A drop in the ocean of work that Bjorn and Sam put into this but I hope it helped.
Fantastic work guys! Go check it and turn your monitor portrait for the full experience!
vimeo
For the past two years me and my friend Sam Taylor have been working weekends, evenings and nights to make this animated 2D short film. WIth no budget a lot of help from our talented and generous friends we’re finally able to put it online. This marks the second film to come out of The Line studio. It’s time to let this baby out in the wild.

Gradfilm - Inheriting The Raven
Inheriting The Raven on Vimeo Oh look, it's online!
I learnt to animate on this film, back in my second year at the AUB in 2011. It turns out animating is a lot of patience. I... didn't have much patience back then so the director did the crazy bulk of the work while I fled to Spain.
It's a beautiful film!

A selection of storyboard panels for Carnesky's Tarot Drome - performed at The Old Vic Tunnels beneath London Waterloo in September. The storyboards were a weekend turn around and was fantastic fun. Burlesque, wrestling, immersive theatre, concert show and roller disco all in one. Here's a little video from the show, courtesy of Mr Cottey's fancy camera work
