Do You Need A Marketing Degree To Be An Excellent Marketer?
I don't believe that a college degree in Marketing will really help you with Marketing. In the same way that I don't believe that having a college degree in Psychology will help you socially and transform you from being an introvert to being an extrovert.
Marketing is learned through trial and error, reading books, having mentors, and attending seminars. However, at the end of the line, Marketing is a self help topic that is really learned by taking massive action and executing by putting out so much content and seeing the results of what you're putting out and then repeating the process until you find out what people really want, need, desire, their pain and their motivations.

College Will Not Help You In The Real World
You might have heard this saying, "College will not help you in the real world." I truly believe that this saying is absolutely correct. College will not really prepare you for what to expect in the real world. The only thing that college will teach you is the theories of how things work but never the practicality of how to actually apply the theories.
The Practicalities of the theories you learn from college comes from First Hand Experience! Therefore, my conclusion regarding college degrees is that they are worth it for certain professions and grad schools but not in others and most definitely not for marketing!

Online Market Research
This is going to be a very short blog post on market research. Obviously, this is a huge topic but I wanted to condense it to make it a very effective summary.
What I mean by Market Research is researching your competition online. Whenever I get a client, I look at their competition's social media profiles and their Google SEO. There are many tools out there that give you all the backlinks of any domain you are searching for (i.e. the domains of your competitor).
After figuring out the backlinks of my competitors, I follow the same strategy in terms of link building in order to rank higher than them. I follow the same strategy but I do more link building and tier building to rank higher than the competition. After that, I see what content on my competitor's social media profiles are getting the most engagement and I replicate the same type of content on my client's social media profiles to get very high engagement rate. Depending on the industry my client is involved in, I have very unique strategies that haven't been implemented by anyone in Egypt yet.
Moreover, I check out and see where most traffic that my competitor's are experiencing comes from. There are tools out there that give you an indication of any URL's paid trafficking and organic trafficking strategies. I do more than my competition and than my client's competition in terms of paid trafficking and again organic traffic to a website will usually come from Google SEO and Social Media Profiles.

How To Be Number 1 On Google
In other words, how to do Google SEO efficiently so that you get your rankings one number on Google.
Today I am going to show you the most effective ways and even some strategies that very few online marketers know about but yet is extremely powerful.
There are two types of SEO that you've got to do:
1. On Page Optimization
2. Off Page Optimization
Tumblr media
On Page Optimization:
On page optimization is when you are optimizing your website. The keyword or keywords that you want to rank for on Google HAVE to be on your website. More specifically, your keyword has to be on your headline, body and in any photo tags and sometimes your URL.
Notice why I said sometimes URL. Be careful with using your keyword so much on your website or else Google might punish you and give you the "Google Slap". The Google Slap is really damaging and can de-rank you for the keyword you're trying to rank for or worse, remove you all together from Google's index.
What you want to do for on page optimization is also create blog posts on your website with the keywords you want to rank for on Google with the steps I shared above for you to take. Keyword in Headline, Body and Tags.
Off Page Optimization:
Off Page Optimization is the tough one to implement but EXTREMELY important to get right. I can't stress that enough.
The way you go about Off Page Optimization is through a concept called "Link Building". Link Building is when you have links on other websites that are linking to your website (the page on your website that has the keyword you are trying to rank for). However, to avoid the usage of "Black Hat", Google has now made it so that the quality of the websites linking to your website matter more than the quantity of websites linking to your website.
You might be asking, well then what are these high quality sites?                Social Media Profiles and Forums
You have to create Social Media Profiles. These profiles include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr, and Reddit. All of these websites should have a link your website page that has the keyword that you're trying to rank for. You need to grow these social media profiles. The larger these profiles are, the better because you will be getting more and more links linking to your website.
Forums: Forums are great because when you create your profile that has the link to your website and people follow you on the forums, that creates more and more links to your website. Google counts the amount of people that engage with you and thus counts those as more links to your website.
Other than forums and Social Media, here are some things you can do that are extremely powerful: Buy Citations that include your Business Name, Address, Phone Number, Email, Your Website Link. All the citations you are going to be buying NEED to have the same exact elements that I just mentioned with the same EXACT way that they are written.
PBN's: Private Blog Networks. These are a group of domains that have been expired that once had a lot of traffic (i.e. link juice). These are powerful outdated sites that Google still regards as high quality sites. You can purchase these websites and then link back to your website page that you want to optimize for in order to create more powerful high quality links linking to your website.

Tips for Increasing your Willpower
1. No matter how long it takes, and how beaten down you are, refuse to give in, or to relinquish your dream. Just get up one more time and then decide to try again.
2. We all slip up, and encounter obstacles. Just determine to keep going, and to get on track again. It doesn’t mean it’s over. It’s all part of the course.
3. We all need support and encouragement in life – so eliminate the negative, or toxic, influences. You don’t need those people who are quick to criticise, and don’t really help you to move closer to your dream.
4. Surround yourself with people who are similar to you, who have the same ambitions, outlooks and points of view. They’ll help to spur you onwards, and provide support you need.
5. Be inspired by other people who overcame defeat … who built a life from nothing … or turned their life around. Learn from their perseverance, and their will to succeed.
6. Imagine how you’ll feel when you’ve reached the goal you’ve set. Try and picture what you’ll look like, and how your life will be.

Create What The Market Demands
I firmly believe that before taking on new projects or creating new products or services, there has to be enough market research conducted to know what your audience wants. One of the biggest mistake most companies make is that they just assume what people want and create the products that cater to those assumptions.
Never Assume in Marketing
Never assume anything in marketing! This is the reason why many businesses that have not conducted enough market research end up disappointed with their sales results for that product or service. Now there could have been other reasons for why their sales was poor other than not adequate market research, but I believe that this is the biggest one.
You've got to do enough research! I can't stress this enough with my clients. With proper market research, you can figure out what your consumers actually want. You don't even know what you don't know. When you assume, you actually don't know if your audience will like your product or service. But, when you research and ask your audience what do they actually want and figure out their needs, then you have paved yourself the way to go about creating your product or service that matches the need of your audience and that product or service will now sell because you've created a product or service that people want!
Tumblr media
How to Figure Out What Your Audience Want
So, how do I do market research and figure out what actually are the needs of my consumer base? The two best ways to do that is by polling your audience in your various social media accounts (Twitter polls, Instagram polls, Facebook polls..etc.). In addition, you could survey your audience. The second best way is to go out in the real world to your target audience and ask them yourself person to person about what do they actually want. For example, if you're trying to create a product that makes dentists do teeth whitening faster on their clients, then you go out and meet dentists (the more the merrier!) and ask them if they need that product or service, based on their answers, now you've gotten a good idea on what they want and can act accordingly.
To conclude, You need to conduct market research to figure out what your audience want and need. The two best ways to do that is by:
1. Polls and Surveys on Social Media 2. Meet your Audience Person to Person And Ask Them
After knowing what your audience want, then the creation and the marketing of your product becomes so much easier. What happens next assuming that you've done everything else correct is a huge spike in your sales!

The Product Should Sell Itself
"The Product Should Sell Itself!". Have you ever heard this phrase? Well, I hope so! I hope you've heard this before as this is the closest you can get to the truth when it comes to marketing. Surely there are some marketing tactics and techniques that are proven to convert prospects to buyers. However, if the product is not good enough, you will see a lot of refunds and websites popping up bashing your product and how people were "tricked" into buying your product due to the tactics you've used on them.
Produce High Quality Products Produce what the market demands! Moreover, make sure that your product is high quality and truly of value. If your product is good enough (it can become viral by just word of mouth because your product is THAT good). I recommend though that after making an amazing product, you do some marketing and advertising online using the power of social media and Google SEO. On the other side, if your product is not good enough, it might sell with good marketing but a lot of refunds will occur and your reputation will go down the drain due to the lying tactics you used and your know-like-trust factor will be lost and you'll be done!
Tumblr media
Therefore, after doing marketing for a few years, I realized that the product should sell itself. With that said though, effective Marketing is a requirement as well. If you have an amazing product followed up by bad marketing, then your product won't sell and the value that you want to give to your clients will not be received due to your bad marketing. So, make no mistake, marketing and advertising is needed for success in selling your product or service!
To conclude, create a magnificent product. At the same time, plan and strategize and execute great marketing in order to create the success that you were looking for in selling your product or service.
