Apex Creative Journeys

The apex creative journeys was at the apex in bury st Edmunds and it was a talk from all different types of artists such as painters, photographers, animators, digital artists and many more and they was explaining what they do to us and how there name has got out there. 

Steve Stacey is someone who stood out for me because he does work with album covers and he has worked with a lot of bands and made some really great work.

The day at the apex was a real eye opening on where this course could take me in the future and it was nice to hear other peoples lives and what they have done within that time.

Sticker Design

This is my sticker design and I chose to do cells, why did chose I choose cells ? Good question it was because cells because I liked the way how cells are random which gave me the chance to play around with it. It was also the first time I used the drawing tablets to create these cells and I really enjoyed using the drawing tablets. The colour’s I choose purple and green because there my zine and I think that the two colours work well with each other.

In Sam’s lesson we learned how to draw kawaii faces, what that does is gives the drawing a effect of it being cute with the small eyes and the mouth close to the eyes. It also shows emotion by drawing eyes different such as the one of the money eyes showing that there is something they want to buy.

Vintage post cards

The vintage postcards that we made in Photoshop from some old pictures, and made shapes and different tools like the line tool, polygonal lasso tool, brush tool. First of all we cut out the 3 vintage pictures using the lasso tool and then putting that onto a page then making shapes with the shape tool and then using my zine colours to make all these come together so it looks really good all together. The circles but there more of a dash and you could click this box on the side of the photoshop page where you can change if its a straight line of not and make it bigger or not.

Album Covers

In the lesson we was told we were making album covers based on a artist you chose, I chose Drake because I enjoy listening to his music. We had to go out and take photos to put on to the album covers, to make them unique. We then made 3 artboards in Photoshop and we was using the polygonal lasso tool to cut out the images we took and then put them on the artborad to make the album cover. I then done a colour over an original photo use the multiply button to see the photo behind the colour.

Drake gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi. Drake has the most number one singles on Billboard’s Hot Rap Songs chart with 12. He also has 10 songs on the Hot R&B/Hip Hop Songs chart. In 2016, Drake was the world’s most popular recording artist. He had the year’s bestselling single with “One Dance” and Views was the world’s third best-selling album. 

I was inspired by drakes album covers because of how simple they are but they tell a story from a small piece of art and I like the concept of that, That’s why I chose Drake to inspire me for my album covers.

Jennifer Berning is an artist which her paper weaving, she does here weaving much more fine and smaller to make it more refine. She will then add colours to make it stand out more.
