Boyue misses that small gesture of hesitation Quan displayed and proceeds with the previous errand. He wastes no time in welcoming the offer to discuss with Sun Quan. He performs the salute once again, thanking, before taking a seat to the spot provided. His orbs reflect the seriousness and maturity despite his younger age.

“What would you like to discuss about, my lord?”

“I guess this alliance has indeed been quite beneficial for both of our kingdoms…” He pointed out, averting his gaze from the other and thinking about what he just said. “Well, yes, you may stay for the night, you can rest assured that no harm will be done to you, Master Jiang Wei. We have no interest in violating our treaty, but please remember to follow the rules.” Sun Quan said.

“Now that you’re here, I’d like you to sit down and join me for a conversation. There are some things I’d like to discuss before you take your leave.”

Deep down, Boyue feels tremendously anxious. Has he crossed the line, dare to deem the Sleeping Dragon as his father? He is ready to apologize anytime but the smile over his mentor’s lips erases all the doubts in his heart. It is as if a big boulder has been lifted of him and he somehow believes he could undergo consecutive studying or war right here right now.

“No. No, Chancellor, it shall be MY duty then to watch over you and lady Yueying. And I shall also do my best to guide Zhuge Zhan! I never had a little brother before and also I never met my father... But now my family is complete... I am truly blessed.”

"Which would you prefer to have, a fan or a scroll?"

“I think a scroll would be more preferable for me, Chancellor. I beg your pardon, may I know why are you asking me this?”

Zhao Yun’s dream started off pleasantly enough, but it soon turned to a nightmare filled with death and defeat. He awoke with a start, ready to bash his imaginary enemies, only to hit a man on the head.

A look of embarrassed surprise crossed his face, but it quickly turned to apologetic concern for Jiang Wei.

“My deepest apologies, General Boyue! I… are you alright? Truly, I am sorry.”

Boyue is aware of the slight quickening pace of Zhao Yun’s breathing and the stirring on his sleep. A nightmare, perhaps? But, still, he does not dare to wake his friend’s up. But not too long after, the other jerks up from his former position, knocking Boyue on the head.

Instead of getting angry for being shoved all of a sudden, a look of concern painted on his face.

“I am fine, my lord. Worry not. Just a little surprised. Were you having a nightmare?”
