“Losing you felt easy compared to loving you. Forgetting you felt as natural as the movement of limbs, as undisturbed as being yourself when you know no one is watching. You will always be the street I skip on my way to the rest of my life, you will always be a nervous laugh I’ll give when someone mentions an embarrassing memory. But most importantly, while you think I have sonnets in my head dedicated to you, in the end you are just a line I wrote in a forgotten poem.”

“No longer will I ride the river’s currents traveling without course or effort the swift water washing away all evidence of my journey thus far. Bare & Strong my feet carry me now. My prints imbedded deep in the earth now leave a storied trail for the curious & courageous to follow.”

What enigmatic magic is life & living! what we design to create of ourselves, what we hope for, adventures we encounter,  what will fill us up, nourish us.
When after sojourns aplenty we find our lost selves, after acquiescence is encountered & hope negotiated, and oceans of reality pour our cups overflowing, Will the earth’s simple magic still satiate?
For at this moment the sun is painting smoky skies through dirty windows, a black and blue hazel eye , dirty feet & dirty blonde hair, on a car full ride to the lake. Only two score colors fuse the smell of a days heat on God’s breath, grass blades sliding between my fingers, the cool night’s Swiss dotted indigo sky, and a train’s melancholy voice trailing away.   With just one stroke of the Sun’s broad brush sepia summers squirrel through my projector, flickering through a shade pulled over an open window, a small breeze swinging it’s pull, ticking against the sill. flickering & ticking out a muddled montage, of reverent images to a respite created. …..and what of earth’s magic?
Artful in the thirst, and in the quenching.

vagabond
So it will be me, not being me that you would want the world to see.
My head in the clouds to be grounded for good so I’ll behave as you say I should.
But I will not live a life sentence being caged up in your pretense, even for all loves likelihood

“Daydreaming was her greatest talent & she cared nothing for disbelieving opinions. She knew she was a glorious fountain from which endless creativity flowed.”

Free was this spirit to fill every bit of space, Tethered was the heart so to not lose her way, Her hands now flew open to let her worries go, bursting like bubbles on their way to heaven!

Instantly you saw she was different, scarlet kisses on an ivory canvas. A floating spirit of grace & danger where contact changes your life on a dime. A great feast could be had as every eye fed on her beauty.
She was every inch…..art in motion.

Stand your fierce self against the pretense that another carries more worth than you. It’s your own fire that lights the journey So Grab your stick and walk.

...she told herself that his love for her was extraordinary,  that he revered her so much his gaze locked her away  as a priceless diamond ring or a masterpiece in oil.  She should feel cherished, but she did not.  She was lonely as a work of art,  appreciated only for her physical design.  She wanted to loved for the depth of her soul,  for herself..... art & prose by Lori McGee © Copyright Chasing Claire de Lune, 2016. “He was dark and deep, like the waves that had brought him to me. In his arms the whole of what was real & routine washed away. I fell into that night sea to my absolute weightlessness, giving myself over to it, completely at the mercy of his intentions.”      -by L. McGee

I don’t care if you’re not perfect can you still love me if I’m not perfect? Let’s talk about the starry skies, The breath in our lungs, The beating of our hearts, The sheer wonder of us, and that will be enough …that will be enough.

A fire burns through me, a wanting of beauty so strong it feverishly pushes past inaction where it can find creation.
