i'm looking to get a dog in the near future, but i'm not really sure what dog to have. it won't really be a first time dog, because i take care of our family dog right now, and i know what dog ownership/training entails. that being said, i'm getting the dog because i'll be moving out, and i would like one that would be good for bite work, because i'm really paranoid and don't want to live by own (be defenceless).

i was thinking poodle for a while because i would like a higher energy dog, but i read that they're quite gentle in the mouth, and that not all can do bitework. so far, i've been thinking about a doberman? is that a good dog for a "first" time owner? (i would be taking classes ofc, and trying as hard as possible to give the dog everything it may need)

or should i look into a different breed? i'll need one that learns fast and preferably doesn't feel the need to attack horses lol. intimidating looks would be great too!!

I've noticed that most older aspecs tend to say they figured themselves out well into adulthood meanwhile there's people my age and younger who knew they were aspec pretty much as soon as they hit puberty and I think that actually makes a lot of sense if we consider the fact that the further back we go the less widespread the concept of asexuality was and the word aromantic was only coined in the early 2000s which makes it relatively recent. It makes sense that those of us who are on the younger side became familiar with this terminology pretty early into our teens when it's way more accessible now than it was twenty years ago
