What’s this, me uploading two art things on tumblr in less than a year? Incredible Anyways, this was drawn for @acedanmeiweek 2021 :) 💜 Feat my beloved Yi City family, i mixed the prompts from Day 2 (Wearing the colors) and Day 6 (Found Family) together for this one!

Song Lan reads as inherently ace to me, although i have to admit i struggled with deciding on a definite label for him. I eventually decided on Demisexual and Grayromantic, but he could also be entirely demi, or entirely gray, or maybe he’s just vibing on the spectrum as a whole, with no definite label~

Which got me thinking… it’s not really revolutionary news, but: It’s okay to figure stuff out, to not put a label on things sometimes! I’ve also thought a lot about what label i feel most comfortable with, and in the end.. i guess Song Lan and me can shake hands over “Undefined ace vibes”

Anyways, i hope everyone had a gread Ace week, felt comforted and seen and the joy of thriving with a lovely community! 💜🖤💚🖤💜

A combined fill for both prompts of day 5 of Ace Danmei Week, casual nudity and nonsexual intimacy. Xichen has been ace in my personal headcanons pretty much as soon as I entered the fandom back in spring of 2020 (its been a year and a half already, wow) so here he is getting some quality time with one of his favorite people.

This is actually the first real digital piece I’ve ever completed! I’ve got other proper pieces that are still wips, and finished sketches, but this is the first real complete painting.

“San Lang, touch me,” he begs, and Hua Cheng’s large hands fit themselves over the muscles of his chest, and then slide to his back, cup his ass, and everywhere they go his skin feels like fire.

Day 3: Relationship negotiations

I saw someone being hateful and gross about asexual interpretations of Wangxian, and now I have some spite headcanons!

- Wei Wuxian is asexual.  He feels romantic attraction to Lan Wangji, and he very much enjoys having sex with him, but he doesn’t feel any sexual attraction.  Sometimes he’s not up for having sex every day, and when he sets genuine boundaries, Lan Wangji listens.  On those days, they just cuddle and kiss instead.

- Lan Wangji is graysexual.  Part of why he was so distressed by Wei Wuxian’s antics in Cloud Recesses was that he had never felt sexual attraction before.  He doesn’t feel sexual attraction to anyone else, and occasionally he’s not sexually attracted to Wei Wuxian either.  Brains are weird!  Sometimes it’s him who just wants to cuddle and kiss instead, and when that happens, Wei Wuxian is respectful of him.

- Often, the main draw of sex - for both of them - is not attraction to each other’s physical bodies, but the kinks they include (mainly CNC) and the emotional connection.  They would be bored out of their minds if they tried to have vanilla sex, and neither of them want to have sex with anyone else.

Reminder that headcanons don’t change the original text, the existence of asexual people in no way supports puritanism, and asexual people can and do have and enjoy sex!  If you’re on the asexual spectrum, I hope you’re having a wonderful Asexual Awareness Week/Ace Danmei Week, and I wish you representation that makes you feel seen.  💜🤍🖤
