i rly don’t have anything of substance to say as i’m less familiar w GL lore, but i’m def intrigued

​this is my first exposure to jo and i’m rly liking her and the relationship/banter between the lanterns(?). hal doesn’t look like hal to me but that’s fine, jo and john are beautiful in this style. i’m actually not sure how old anyone’s supposed to be, hal looks young and he’s being annoying, but hal is annoying at every age so who knows. jo got married and hal has an undercut. assuming the main timeline of power origins, i’m gonna say mid-20s

lots of ring/circle imagery, obviously w the ominous visions, but it’s everywhere else too. john spells out what is probably the running theme of this series, but i’m curious how it’ll be put into practice, esp w hal and jo being given opposing roles (on top of an already established friendship!)

the gore rly took me aback, idk what i was expecting but this was not the tone i thought they’d set for this series. not a bad thing tho, i’ve seen invincible. i’ll believe it’s for good reason

and despite the horrors, they still manage to be cutes ☺️

Just read the first issue of Absolute GL? JO IS DIVORCED? SEPARATED? HAL CRASHING OUT BUT IS ACTUALLY TRYING HIS BEST TO HOLD HIMSELF TOGETHER? WHERES JOHN? ABIN SUR WITH NO CLOTHES? Ah. Can't believe #2 is another month away.

This first issue was so crazy!! I'm really excited to see what they'll do with this new setting for the Green Lanterns (with all the alien horror and suspense).

And the art is so fun!! It really reminded me of shounen mangas in some moments.

Honestly most of the bad things that happen in issue 1 of Absolute Green Lantern is because Hal lives in America where people are just itching to shoot someone.
