The Design Starts with the inspiration from the Green belt and how to integrate the belt within 100yil. A natural Sinous type of pattern is adopted to define the function and the characterstic of the green spaces.
The Spine defining a path gives rise to various rings which rise to form the student housing in the design. Direct relation is taken from the vastly used five storey high buildings as they are the defining elements of 100yil and are reflected as a contrast to the student housing on the Site.

ANALYSIS
Location
The site is located in the heart of Bahcelievler, which was designed in early 1930’s. Over the years it turned out to be a heterogeneous place due to overpopulation.
Characteristics of Surrounding Buildings
The area is crowded with commercial buildings and places, such as offices, shops, cafes, restaurants and entertainment areas. Lack of communal and green spaces.
Problems of the Site and its Surrounding
Bahceliveler when it was first designed was suppose to be a self sustaining environment, but during the years its coherency decreased on account of the rapidly increasing population. These ruptures have caused the life pattern to decrease sociologically and ideologically resulting in a fragile and weak district. What was once dreamed to be an evergreen society has become more commercial in nature.
Aim and Proposal
Our aim is to balance the life and urban spaces in this district to guide the district towards the path that it was initially intended to where people of various genders, age groups and occupations can live together in harmony. We wanted to Introduce the idea of a public garden which would help to break people out of their shells and be a part of a bigger community.
Pixilated Conceptual layers
Use of pixels to integrate the interior and the exterior spaces to interact with the surroundings  of the site, in order to achieve a harmonious hybrid relationship.
3D Grid System
We started the design by the idea of a 3D grid, which in its natural form is quite simple and flexible.

LOCATION & FUNCTION
The site is located in the heart of the salt lake region in turkey. It is home to many national companies as it provides a great amount of salt used throughout the world. Due to the factories operating in the site and extracting salt the number of animals which feed on the natural characteristics of the salt lake especially birds are being harmed and their numbers are dropping yearly. As a natural habitat is being disturbed, a research facility is to be designed and to help understand the reasons of this deterioration and ways to improve it. Two researches will reside in the facility while guests will be welcome to use the facility for various events and activities related to the salt lake.
Concept and Design
Vision being the basic phenomenon, guides visitors throughout the site starting by the road, soft transitioning through the nodes entering into the totality of the research facility. Cantilevers being the guiding line grasped the idea of vision and emphasized it on the elements and structures.
Structure by the road
The first step of my design was to have an inviting entity. the objective was to have a dynamic structure which is made up of different layers which acts as elements defining direction to the site.
Transiting structures
The second step of my design was to direct the people while giving them opportunities to have various experiences while the move. Experience being directly related to the phrase TRANS-VISION. Minimalist structures helped to achieve a unity between groups while sharing characteristics.
Structure by the lake
In the last phase, a research facility for the research of animals (especially birds), their behavior and habitat was the idea behind the design. Elements and relations from the last two phases were used to enable a strong relationship. The deck was the main idea of the design which would be used by both the researchers and guests. Other activities such as event hall and researching areas are entertained by the deck.

The theme of this project was an ART VALLEY.
Considering the term VALLEY, which we believe in a sensational was creates illusions. so we wanted to incorporate these illusions in our design. This was done in a handful of ways.
The first was the activity itself, we wanted to display artworks which themselves are illusions. the idea was telling a story, from the start to the end just as the concept of a valley. To achieve this we sub categorized our activity anomorphic art. We wanted the visitor to feel the story using the sense of vision. Hence vision and perception became 2 design guiding principles of our art valley.
The second was designing the topography considering spaces. The idea was to vary different spaces creating different experiences, this was done by allowing flow of space into each other while keeping the factor of surprise. we did this by again focusing on the perspective of the visitors. we wanted the valley to guide the visitor itself through the journey.

The Lake Eymir Project focused on the overall site characteristics and function. The task was to design the site while focusing on pedestrian movement within the site and its neighborhood.
The function of this design was to cater to the needs of the raftsmen who will be practicing and training within the boundaries of the site.
Our objective was to distributes the given topography into areas well connected into each other resulting into a more centralized organization in order to tackle the needs of the raftsmen.

As a warm-up exercise, and the introduction of team work in architecture, to develop understanding and critical thinking, our first exercise was the Play Wall.
In this design, we were asked to implement the formulas and techniques that we learned in the first semester and design a multi functional wall, full of activities. As a team of 3 students, we decided to implement the idea of a fold. We wanted to achieve linear wall with different levels, while giving form to different spaces for different activities. The activities that we targeted were walking, resting, wall climbing and sitting.

After critics in the pre jury, i decided to continue with the same basic ideas and introduce new rules and ideas to give my design higher complexity and a greater overall order. While the assignment was the same, the only difference was the use of black cardboard instead of the corrugated one. I started designing my final model of the semester by re organizing the development and making slight changes in it. my initial design ideas was to use 10cm lengths in my development which would give nice foldd and allowing me to obtain a better rhythm among the cardboard surfaces. I finished the designing process of the development obtaining 3 axes. My idea was that when i fold the  development these 3 axis will come in the third dimension intersecting at the center of my design. This was a really helpful technique to give complexity and orders to my design while not allowing it to be symmetrical. The three parts of the developments with the axis called x y and z respectively were arranged as shown above. My design consisted gradation which helped to achieve overall rhythm in the design itself. I was able to achieve gradation my the idea of twist! The placement and shapes of my wire mesh surfaces came directly from the development itself. They were always used in isosceles triangles throughout the design.
Coming to the voids, I carried forward the idea of an hierarchical order of voids going from small to big and then back to small from my previous design in the Pre-jury model. To order my voids further and vary them in terms to illumination, i designed my smaller voids to be less translucent which goes forward to more translucent as the follow towards the larger voids, obtaining another hierarchical order in terms of illumination. Both the hierarchy are interrelated to each other! My placement and rules for translucent paper and linear elements came from the rule of hierarchy of voids both in terms of size and illumination. To distinguish between the two translucent surfaces, i used translucent paper as quadrilateral surfaces and and linear elements as curvilinear.

SEVENTEEN
The task at hand in our final assignment was the designing of 17 voids inter-related to each other. I started designing my model by first designing my cardboard surface as i decided it to be the skeleton or the guiding element in the design. I designing the cardboard surface i folded ti up to form the skeleton and applied rules for the other surfaces as seen in  my poster. The ideas that i wanted to show in my design was rhythm and hierarchy. I ordered my voids in gradually change from small to big to obtain hierarchy in term of size.

Double Sided Relief
In the assignment we were asked to create a relief but to make thing a little more challenging the relief should be double sided and have varying characteristics on both the sides! Jumping from 2-D to 3-D, i started to think of the relief as the background and foreground relation in my 2-D designs as the only thing different in the relief is that both background and foreground are made of the same materials. so technically its the idea of depth with gives the relief its characteristics.\
My design idea consisted of two groups which were ordered as the diagram shown above. Ordering principle consisted of rhythm and Hierarchy. I used varying scales and rotation and mirroring of my groups to achieve my overall order and giving the design a certain level of complexity.

ANALYSIS
In this assignment we were asked to walk around the campus and find a building and analyze the design concepts of that building. This building that i chose is in Odtü teknokent. The design concepts that i was able to analyze in these pair of identical buildings is rhythm, contrast and hierarchy. Rhythm is achieved in the building in the columns, the columns are arranged in a similar pattern in both the axis achieving rhythm. On the ground floor of the building we can see that the window-wall patter is continuing in an ordered fashion hence rhytm can also be seen in there. Contrast is achieved in the building by the use of linear elements example lines on the higher floors whereas none on the ground floor. I also observed a sense of hierarchy between the rectangular elements of the roof of the building, which is providing a sense of order. Altogether a sense of hierarchy can also be observed in the building between the open spaces of the building.
