I was taught this early on from my mom. I thinks it’s absurd 🧐the way relationships are painted in love songs and on our tv screens. We’re taught just go out there and find “THE ONE” then you’re tosses off into relationship land expecting him/her to just “get” you and you’re never to be heard of again...well not until the relationship is over 😏 If you’re able see clearly into a person who is willing to help you fill MOST OF YOUR NEEDS, I say go for it! 👍🏾 There’s no need to pretend. We all NEED EACH OTHER for something at sometime. Since that “one magical person” 🦄 can’t and honestly SHOULDN’T do it all TO MAKE YOU HAPPY we all look outside a relationship (romantic or otherwise) and to me that’s healthy and SHOULD BE normal. The question is can your partner/friend relinquish their ego for you to seek happiness however it works for you 🤔 Why else do women have a girls night out, and men need to go be with the boys, it’s why some people have a cuddle buddy 😯why you have that one friend you can’t tell your secrets to but who will make you laugh every time, why some people are amazing at giving advice, why some are stellar at conversation, and some are just good when you need to go party or be wild 😜 Everybody in your life plays a really important part, otherwise what’s the point, right 💁🏾‍♀️ But really no one should bare the pressure of being EVERYTHING to you. It’s simply unrealistic.

I still believe in love... But I do know heartache. I’ve been dissed for another woman, I’ve been abused and controlled, I’ve had lovers tell me their religion stood in the way of our happiness, I’ve been on hold for twelve years foolishly waiting and wanting, I’ve had lovers who wouldn’t take me back, I’ve been shoved in the friend zone, I’ve been told “You’re just not my type,” I’ve had relationships with questionable sexuality, I’ve loved never to be loved back, I’ve even been proposed to in a text with a picture of a ring 🤦🏾‍♀️🙄 I say this to say that after all that and more...I’m not bitter. My heart is still open. I know what it feels like to be vulnerable and I’m scared shitless but I keep going. I won’t let someone else’s deeply askewed idea of love stop me from getting up from my puddle of tears and trying again. I won’t settle for less than what I deserve. And thru all the lessons, love is different for me now. I want to love more lightly now, be at ease with the flow of others in and out of my life. Less attachment and more selfless love is my objective. Whatever will be, will be but I’m not afraid to move forward. I’m not afraid to love and to be loved in return.

FR FR🙌🏾 I 😍😍😍 seeing other people achieve their goals. I’m so in love with watching people say they gonna do something and 👊🏾 there it is!! That’s some magical shit. That’s some GOD shit!! Make no mistake I’m no longer jealous of other peoples success. It used to make me sad to see other people shinning, esp at something I so badly wanted and lusted after on a daily basis. That shit used to tear me apart...till I realized that to be jealous of some one else with a banging corvette, or a clothing line, or a “better body” or a writing career or a....whatever would mean to SEPARATE MYSELF from them as if they have something that is somehow unattainable 🤔 As if to say THEY HAVE A HIDDEN POWER TO ACHIEVE that I don’t??? 😏😏 To be jealous of someone else winning is to admit defeat before I already began. It’s an admittance to your very soul that YOU HAVE NOTHING SPECIAL TO OFFER THIS WORLD. Jealousy is an insult to your GODLINESS. STOP 🛑 IT! So yeah, you...keep on shinning. I’m watching. I’m inspired by you just being you. 👸🏾🤴🏾
