In light of the finale today (TODAY!!) we get new stills from the culmination of everything.

As we know, Boss will be forcing Jack to choose between three people. Rose, Joke and Save.

We all know Jack would want to save Joke but he’s also one who would try and save them all.

We can see Jack standing off with Rose, his eyes though only for Joke. He looks worried, frustrated, and most of all, longing for Joke.

Either he was gonna choose Joke, but Joke forced him to choose someone else. Or a circumstance made him choose Rose, again.

If we go with the first theory, it would connect the dots on how he’s staring at Joke, his eyes looked unbelieving at Joke, as if he can’t believe Joke would sacrifice himself.

That Jack is here to save Joke but Joke’s trying to save Jack. Again.

And isn’t that what’s always been about?

Joke wanting Jack to have a better life.

May that be Joke sacrificing himself.

Bc for the most part, Joke has always accepted that his life is minuscule compared to others. That, even after meeting Jack, especially after meeting Jack, he will always choose to sacrifice himself that let Jack suffer.

For the most part, as much as no one had ever acknowledged Joke’s struggle to become better, Joke had always seen how Jack struggled and kept it all to himself. As much as Joke tried to lift the burden from Jack, he seemed to be adding to it. What’s his life compared to Jack anyway?

If it means giving his own for Jack, he’d do it in a heartbeat.

This is the look of a man who had accepted its fate of dying yet felt at peace as soon as the love of his life came for him.

That is the look of a man who had gone through hell to save the love of his life because damn if he ever let his man die, die thinking he had lost his love for him, because that will never be true.

They love each other so much. That’s the truth.

When they first started, they were still young as Vee & Mark, playing perfectly as college students. And they’ve matured since then and grew into their features. Yin built up his muscles matching his height and War looks younger yet stronger.

Also, please give us another series with them but War as a villain and Yin as a badass who is only whipped for War 🤧

we switch to Joke a nervous wreck at the hospital once more

Jack might be screaming those words to the bastard of a man that was his boss, but his soul is whaling them for the lover that just tore his heart apart.

this entire sequence is an absolute masterpiece and I need to talk about it.

Can we talk about how feral Jack became once it’s Joke who’s in danger? Can you imagine how a dog like Jack becoming a feral wolf out for blood for anyone who dare hurt his mate?

We thought we saw an angry Jack fighting through bodies to Boss, when he punched Hope, when he screamed the house down at everyone in his way.

But one punch to Joke?

Man’s literally shaking with fury flying at Carbon with a kick.

The fact that his gaze changed so deadly when Ama said he needed to save Joke because Joke’s been taken? When he stormed the warehouse and fought through the guards again to get to where Joke was?

And poor Carbon probably thought he’ll just piss off a lover, but he didn’t expect hell coming down on him after punching Joke in front of Jack. The echo of Jack screaming “Don’t touch my boyfriend!!!” ringing in Carbon’s ears as he hopefully bleeds to death.

And Joke? All throughout this, is swooning. Baby, he’s down bad for his man, the man he thought he wouldn’t see again. Turns out they were just hasty and rash. It was one day! One day.

I can imagine Jack grumbling at Joke in the end, freeing him from the bomb necklace, “Just one day Joke, and you get yourself kidnapped.” While Joke makes heart eyes & hurt sounds, milking it for all that’s worth. Jack softening, “Okay I’m sorry baby let’s go home na ja”.

Can you imagine???????

I almost thought the eng sub would have been “I’ll be your daddy”. Hope and Hoy’s expressions just made it even funnier.

Jack telling Save he has to go home because he has to fix things.

I do believe Jack was gonna go home and reconcile with Joke. Either he knew that Joke was going to visit Ama, or he would ask Ama for advise how to fix things with Joke. With the way he hurt Joke, he knew he was gonna have to reach out first & knows he has to reach out first. Jack was regretful.

But not as regretful as when he heard that Joke was taken.

He didn’t have the chance to make things right. And Joke, who probably might die, might die believing that Jack never wanted to see him again. That what Jack said was the truth. That he may die believing Jack didn’t love him.

Jack was out to put that to rest, and save him, all the while letting Joke know he’s indeed love. And to bring him back home.

Jack saying these hurtful words to Joke, telling him to basically disappear from his life. Joke took the words to heart. Nevermind that these were said at the heat of the moment. Because, Joke had always believed that he is never good for Jack or for anyone—that he’s just a stain on everyone’s life bringing bad luck.

When Jack finally calmed—well as calm as he can be—Hope’s words gotten through to him just a tad. He cried for Joke, cried for the way they left things, cried for missing him, and maybe, cried for the hurtful things he said to Joke.

As we see the next day with the little gang, Jack’s reaction to Joke’s name when Hoy mentions him, is the kind who isn’t as mad as the first time. More like a mix of feelings. Annoyed that Joke is known to be the king of heist, annoyed he’s not there, annoyed that it’s most likely his fault. But maybe, part of him is relieved bc Joke won’t be in trouble anymore if he stayed away. Regardless, Jack truly underestimated Boss. Because as we can see, Boss knew to take Jack’s ultimate weakness. Because it’s not just grandma anymore, it’s Joke that has Jack’s whole heart.

We got a moment with Joke and grandma, he was so happy to see her only to remind them both that he’s not there to come back and stay. And catch his words, he asked for Ama to only tell Jack the words he wanted to say, only if Jack himself ever asks for him. He didn’t even try begging Ama to tell Jack and ask to reconcile, which he knew Ama would absolutely do. But rather, he’s giving the space Jack needs. Totally different when he first came out of prison asking for forgiveness. He’s giving Jack the space to breathe, to swallow what’s happening, all the while thanking him for everything—the things he wanted to tell Jack that from the beginning, Jack had Joke’s heart already. That he took Joke’s smile and made it for the world to see. That he was the reason Joke was ever truly happy. Joke’s only sorry that for being happy, he had to take away Jack’s smile many times.

Ama’s words “Fate is funny isn’t it? You gave Jack’s freedom in exchange of never seeing him again.” And she’s right.

Though, in Jack & Joke’s minds, this is the freedom that Jack wanted. But it’s not. Joke disappearing would not be Jack’s freedom. However, Joke doesn’t know that. Joke only ever believed he took it away. And in some parts, yes, but he was also the one to give it.

Joke didn’t know Jack would go to the ends of the earth to find him. That Jack didn’t even hesitate to believe Ama when she says he needs to save Joke.

Because if he truly felt that Joke was not worth his love, he wouldn’t be as upset and full of rage to go in a trap just to save him.

That Joke may believe disappearing for good would give everyone, Jack, a better life. But Jack would only dig the graves deeper for each body responsible to ever hurt Joke.

Jack may not have realized just how much his words affected Joke. He may have wanted to wait till they cool off, then come find Joke to talk but the world doesn’t ever give them the break. He may have said the words, but his heart still sees Joke as his boyfriend. Much said when he gives Carbon the kick he deserves for punching Joke right in front of Jack.

And at this, we may see Joke realizing that maybe they were both too haste in their actions trying to make each other feel better, apologizing & forgiving all the same. It was just one day, but it clearly felt like a lifetime to Joke, if he thought he should just say goodbye for good. But Jack proves him wrong as he came trying to save him. And even before that when he says he has to fix things at home. He has to fix what he broke with Joke.

It’s such a rollercoaster of emotions. One day Joke thought he had his future panned out, the next he has to leave his newfound family and disappear, and in another snap, his Jack is claiming him once again.

But isn’t that the beauty of this romance?

Reality isn’t as smooth sailing.

Joke & Jack’s love has been built with loops from fate trying to unravel for them to settle. They’ve yet to uncover what really makes them fated, and they have to work on that.

Clearly, Jack won’t hesitate to save his man. Joke was shocked and scared for when Jack arrived. Shocked because he didn’t think Jack would care to come for him, knowing they left things on a sour note. Afraid because Jack may die, and get hurt again because of him. Again.

Clearly these two would die for each other, they both know it for themselves, but they still can’t believe each other either.

Next episode is the finale.

We’ve got lots of things needed to be resolved before we get romance again. But hey, what’s more romantic than rushing in to save the love of your life who may or may not explode in front of you?

It’s all a big game they are trying to win.

I’m still in my sad feelings when Carbon knocked it over with their messed up mind. They could not give us time to recover.

But the finale lowkey gives me mdzs guanyin temple vibes.

Hopefully they won’t drag the fight out too long in the next episode and actually give time for Jack & Joke to properly reconcile.

Our two boys need to get married and adopt their daughter please.

Think about how the Jack and Joker kiss was such a long time coming not just for fans, but for Yin and War as well.

Which is why I think they’re so snappy—not in a bad way, they’re protective of their show—with people complaining on Twitter. Consider, they worked together in 2020 during En of Love, where their own 4 episode story was the most popular out of all three story arcs. So popular in fact that fans wanted a more flushed out version of Mark and Vee’s story, but it’s not until two years later that they get to work together again, only they are playing the same characters, telling the same story, even saying the same same dialogue! Now, don’t get me wrong, Love Mechanics was a fair upgrade from the mini series. But after wanting to work together again for so long, they were just playing Mark and Vee again, how completely dull for them.

So they do what many Thai BL actors do, they go on tour together, at least that’s something. And damn if the mini heist YouTube video they make for it doesn’t do numbers! The fans want more of them, more of that! Hell they want more themselves, yet their—at the time—company wouldn’t give them roles. So screw it, they take a chance and don’t renew their contracts and become independent artists. That doesn’t always go well, and it’s a lot of hard work to get parts without a company trying to lock actors into years long contracts.

So they go full Saint and just decide to make what they wanna make on their own terms with their own money, Yin sold his damn car to help fund the series so they didn’t have to cave to corporate shilling of drinks and beauty products. It takes years to get a script hammered out, actors willing to take a chance working with them, editors, directors, all of it. And all of those people need to be paid, hell, they need to be paid!

But it’s here now, their real proper second series together, fresh and new after four—almost five—years! And what’s more, it’s doing great, amazing even. Now they have fancons in the work and tv interviews and magazines cover shoots (freaking Vogue Thailand!?), and so many companies reaching out wanting to invest in them. The management at Rookie Thailand is no doubt kicking themselves for not putting more faith in these men. They had the fans, they had the passion for the work and what’s more, they had each other. When you find that type of friendship, you fight for it, and that’s what they did to be able to make Jack & Joker. Yin and War put their blood, sweat and tears in their series, not to mention their money and reputations as well.

So when Jack and Joke finally kissed? Yeah, the chemistry was still there, was never not there. But those two, they had a point to prove and it was proven with that damn kiss.

Yin loved his job; it was truly gratifying in ways he could not explain. Walking out of the building and seeing the fans waiting for him and knowing that he was able to bring joy to the people who supported him through and through always eases the exhaustion after a long day. He made sure to smile for them and tell them to take care while walking to the van that the managers had waiting for him, waving one last time before opening the door to what could only be his favorite sight.

His partner was curled up in one of the seats on the end of the van, trying - and failing - to hide from the people outside, He hid a small laugh when the elder pouted after hearing the fans say his name, knowing full well that he's been made.

It took everything in him not to just rush inside and squish his cheeks, the only thing stopping him is the thought that their managers and their fans would never let them live it down.

"I swear I was hiding well. I'd be proud of their 20/20 vision but it also means they see everything." War complained from his seat, looking back at their fans one last time. "Too good."

Yin hid a laugh, opening one eye when he felt someone moving around the van only to see his partner trying to switch seats to the one next to him. "It's dangerous to move seats while we're moving." He sighed, reaching out to hold his partner's waist to help him. "I swear."

"And-" War huffed, finally slumping on his desired seat before turning to face his tired - but very amused - partner. "Hi."

"You came all the way here to say hi." Yin teased, poking the elder's hip. "You missed me that much?"

"I'm afraid I'm too attached to you already."

War sighed dramatically, wiggling around in his seat before cupping Yin's cheek. "Tired?"

"Just a little. A short nap is all I need, and I'll be back on my feet in no time."

The elder pursed his lips in worry before nodding, sliding closer to Yin so that he could lay his head on his shoulder. "Me too but I needed my favorite pillow, so they brought me to you."

"And here I thought it was because you can't live without me." The younger let his partner do as he pleased, almost falling asleep to the sound of War's quiet hums. "What are you humming?"

"You'll laugh if I tell you."

"Now I'm really curious."

In the smallest voice possible, the elder whispered the answer. "Cerave."

At that, Yin opened both his eyes to look at his partner in obvious disbelief. "Seriously?"

"Hey! I my defense, if you heard it a hundred times, it would get stuck in your head too. Besides, it's quite catchy," He defended, jabbing Yin's shoulder when the younger started laughing. "I'm going to make sure you hear it atleast once a day to prove to you that I'm right."

"Gladly. But only if I see the dance every day too."

"You're pushing your luck today, Wong." War glared, unknowingly playing with Yin's pretty fingers. "I'll have you know that I aced that dance."

"I never said you didn't, it was cute." Yin looked down, noting that War looked equally exhausted. "Want to play with Zulu?"

"Is this your roundabout way of asking if I want to sleep over?" War asked, knowing his partner all too well. "Does Zulu know that you keep using him to make me come over?"

"No, because I think you come over for his dad more than for him. The truth will break his heart."

"Don't lie to your son like that, I love him more."

"Do you?"

"Yup." War popped the 'p' to emphasize his point, groaning in annoyance when Yin playfully ruffled his hair. "You don't believe me?"

"I'll just pretend to believe you. I can never win with you."

"Anan, I thought you already knew that in a relationship there must be someone who always has to win and someone who's whipped. You're the second one."

"So, what you're saying is - we're in a relationship?"

"Aow, aren't we?"

"I don't know, it depends on you."

They look at each other for a second before bursting out in uncontrollable laughter, tears in their eyes while the driver eyed them through the rearview mirror.

"I understand why our fans love to hate us when someone asks us about this."

"It's just more fun this way."

"You should go wash up before bed."

War was already sprawled around Yin's bed, hidden underneath his very comfortable duvet. "Will you kick me out if I don't?"

"I don't know what to do with you."

"Love me~" War singsonged, rolling out of bed and reaching for Yin. "Right?"

Yin smiled fondly, letting the elder wrap his arms around his tummy. "I will love you after you take a bath."

"You drive a hard bargain Mister Wong."

"Take a bath."

War whined like a child but still stood up to take the clothes Yin had laid out for him. "Fine."

The elder made his way to the bathroom, frowning the whole time and amusing his partner further.

"I'll be back, and the if the bed isn't warm anymore when I get back, I will fight you."

After War spent all 15 minutes inside the bathroom to freshen up, they found themselves cuddled up in bed like usual, Yin playing with his phone and War idly scrolling through tiktok.

"Yin Anan I just realized something." War sat up, squinting at the man in question. "I think you tricked me."

"I tricked you how?"

"You said I could play with Zulu."

"And?"

"And I just realized every time you said that after a late schedule, I never actually get to see him because he's already asleep."

"Hmmm."

"Admit you just like cuddling with me in bed."

"I do."

"That was easy."

"No need to hide the truth."

"Using your son as bait."

"He will understand. You know dogs are happy when they sense that their owner is happy and I'm happy when You're here so therefore, Zulu is happy too." Yin reasoned, pulling War by his waist so they were back to cuddling in bed. "I'm too tired to make coherent sentences."

War snorts, pinching Yin's nose lovingly. "I got the point."

"You did? Good, because I can't say that again accurately."

"You know Anan, you're very cute when you're sleepy."

"Just when I'm sleepy?"

"You're cute all the time but extra cute when you're sleepy."

"I thought you said I was dangerous?" Yin teased, inching closer to his partner so their foreheads were almost touching.

"Now, you're dangerous." War replied, wrapping his hands around Yin's waist and nuzzling his neck. "Sleepy. Night Anan."

"Goodnight."

did u immediately think by returning it, he's not only voluntary giving up on the one thing he ever let himself cling to, he's also translating a regret to have met, a desire to turn back time and walk away before he could ruin the one life he always wanted to protect or are u normal
