So this happened.

Kickstarted a credit-card-sized dice replacement.

For IRL D&D it was fine, but dials spin forever. Made dice tray pointless, while less satisfying. Even though I chose yellow text on black, hard for me to see in mood-lit basement on table

For Shadowrun, 6D6 is embarrassingly insufficient, given I regularly roll 14D6. The VTT roller is far better (since it does the math on pools and successes).

But they’re sturdy and hefty! Which means my mini metal dice are lighter and better for travel.

Hamilton for margarita slushies at Billy's (in a cup that matched my shirt), then the Hamilton Art Crawl, then Willard’s for coconut sorbet and chocolate ice cream in a rainbow cone (not GF so it was just mostly for show), and then Easy Tiger where I got egg-free deviled eggs (they were deviled potatoes) and a Clarified Ambrosia Salad cocktail (vodka, pineapple briotette, Liquor 43, orange, clementine, vanilla, coconut milk clarification) that tasted alarmingly and exactly like the dessert treat.

After a weekend of yard work and basement purges, treated myself to my first visit to Britesmith’s new location on Niagara Street. Deviled eggs a wheat beer, sausage & rapini pizza, pretzel bites, a white stout. All the gluten. Doubling down, in fact.

Fixed it!

Fika was an espresso shot with a teaspoon of limoncello. A lazy espresso romano / espresso with a twist.

I used the moka split cup thing, only to have nozzle seize up until the very end and squirt about a teaspoon into the second cup. Yay.

Still tasty. Will repeat with the 9Barista or Flair.

Sausage and broccolini. GF fusilli, cream, peas, chicken, romano. Spumoni gelato. @ Sinatra’s

Half a pint of pistachio gelato, 2 ounces limoncello, 1 ounce espresso.

The gelato melted very quickly, even in the frozen glass, before adding the chilled limoncello and hot espresso. Still good, but I’ll probably make it once more and forget to do it again.

Pani Puri: potato, chickpeas, onion, coriander, and spices stuffed into a crispy puri. Served with savory Pani (water in the metal) made with tamarind and mint chutney (you pour it into the puri and throw the whole thing into your mouth).

Mango Ginger Wings: wings tossed in a sweet mango and ginger sauce. Topped with red onion and cilantro.

Chicken Kashmiri: fresh onions sauteed in garlic and ginger, then cooked with tomatoes and spices. Simmered slowly and topped with cream.

[Protein] Tacos: protein tossed in signature tikka masala sauce. Topped with green peppers, red onions, purple cabbage, and our house-made cilantro sauce.

Nickel City Comic Con was, broadly, a disappointment. I bought tickets at the door, and the web site did not give the price for day-of tickets at the door, nor did it mention it was cash only.

I took two pictures early on and then lost interest.

Yesterday managed to see at least a half dozen bands for Kenmore Porchfest. I only remembered to take one pic (at this RAtM cover band, Anger Is a Gift). They did a great job and the hosts had a cooler of water for everyone.
