Me anytime I see homoerotic subtext between two characters, whether is canon or not, and it becomes my current hyperfixation

So does Disney realise that they created two sapphic characters with so much sexual tension it could be cut with a knife or do we have to go tell them?

good that warrior nun didn't have an explicit gay relationship in season one or it would have been cancelled, too

Ellen is one of those characters that makes you smile (and cringe… softly) whenever she appears, and probably, inadvertently ships Stepril. It wouldn’t surprise me if Sterl needs her advice, or Ellen finds out about them and tries to talk to Sterling and/or April and ends up eating a bunch of Fig Newtons while having a mental breakdown. Her poor heart. 😱 ☠️

NETFLIX DIDN’T GIVE YOU SHE-RA!!! or I am not okay with this, or Sense8, or Kipo, or Pose, or Everything Sucks!
I need all of you to understand that these works were given to us by writers, directors, cinematographers, costume designers, animators, and other creative types that poored their heart and soul into these pieces, because it what they have worked for all through their adult lives.
Netflix is a corporation, a label, and nothing more. the term “Netflix original” is a way for them to take credit for a project they threw money at and nothing else. Maybe Netflix doesn’t have the same level of censorship and prejudice as say, Disney, but that doesn’t mean they deserve a fucking medal.
Netflix is a production company built on making money. They do not care about filmmaking as an artform, and they do not care about your representation. They design their marketing strategy so that shows flop after one season, because one season is all they need to bring in a few new subscribers. If someone makes an account because they want to watch one show, they are unlikely to cancel that subscription, because Netflix will make recommendations to keep them around. That is all they care about. It’s all they want from you.
So stop giving them credit for shows and movies they didn’t care enough to make themselves

Teenage Bounty Hunters (Sterling x April moment)
Underrated April and Sterling moment:
The day after they iconically make out for the first time, Sterling catches up to April in the hall after Spanish class. This is the first time she’s intentionally addressed April since mashing their faces together. And Sterling is all like, “We should talk,” to which April responds, “About what?”
This is HUGE because April thought for a second that she was going to brush it under the rug and run away from her feelings/what happened as fast as she could.
HOWEVER, when Sterling dejectedly asks, “Oh, you thought that was nothing?” April cracks. She sees Sterling, vulnerable, in front of her rejected by a lie. So, April answers with the truth, a hushed, “No.”
Which is WICKED because she’s reaching back. I can’t remember how many times we’ve seen the classic, girl meets girl, confesses her feelings in the heat of the moment and other girl is mean to her and pretends nothing happened.
They break the mold. Despite the school they go to, they set the tone for their relationship. Honesty with each other. It would have been easy (safe) for April to ignore Sterling and keep the course, but NO. She turns right the fuck around and is like yo, I am not going to lie about how I feel to someone who is doing her best to be real and risking it right here, right now.
April continues to surprise me. Sure, she falters at the end of the season, but if your (presumed homophobic) woman beating dad flew back in from jail, that might make your confidence waiver too.
Even then we see April fight her urge to just run. She tries to make it work, constantly turning back on comfort and safety in her best attempt to go with her heart and be there for Sterling (who she REALLY cares about).
This is different and it gives me hope for the future of these two if/when we get a season 2.
I truly believe that scene in the hall is shedding a light on their ability to fight through obstacles that present themselves. What happened at the end of season 1 is not different. These two, even if they need to figure it out separately as they deal with some serious family business, will find a way back. Their paths are crossed.
