Sophie Scholl’s last words:
“How can we expect righteousness to prevail when there is hardly anyone willing to give himself up individually to a righteous cause? Such a fine sunny day, and I have to go, but what does my death matter, if through us thousands of people are awakened and stirred to action?”

also not to disk horse but the bnha universe’s “number one hero/number two hero/etc” system is inherently flawed and is detrimental to the ethics of heroes because it motivates people to become heroes out of a sense of competition rather than an actual desire to protect people which is what heroes are supposed to be all about, and this destructive competitiveness is an attitude that’s encouraged early on in their hero careers via the UA sports festival, which pushes kids to fight against each other and injure themselves for glory and power rather than to work together to fight a common goal and showcase their abilities in the way the sports festival claims it does because the sports festival is inherently about Winning and any teamwork displayed in the festival is only a means to an end as opposed to genuine cooperation and sportsmanship. THANKS FOR COMING TO MY FUCKING TED TALK

Stopping girl hate doesn’t mean you have to like or get along with every other woman. It just means you don’t tear women down for being women. It means you let go of your internalised misogyny, envy, and jealousy of other women. It means not using gender based insults to undermine other women. It means you don’t push other women under the bus for men. It means you stop holding other women to the arbitrary and restrictive gender roles you’ve been socialised into.
