Looking at this, I can see why Charlie became a supporting character to her own show, especially since she got sidelined to both her father, who ended up fighting Adam with ease, and Alastor. Why make Charlie the main character if she ends up being sidelined? That's like if The Fairly Oddparents had Timmy got sidelined and ended up as a supporting character to his father and Mr. Crocker.
I don't know what Viv sees in these two, but if you're going to make Charlie the main character, just make Charlie the main character, simple ss that.
#Luci really either needed to be an antagonist or just very absent in Charlie’s life#and I don’t mean absent in the way he was#he should’ve just straight up shown no interest in the hotel and walked out!!#there’s just no way for him to be a protagonist without becoming a main character#he’s just way too powerful#he has no problem overshadowing Charlie with his powers#Timmy’s father works because he’s a looming threat in a way#but the main focus isn’t about his antics#it’s about Timmy’s#an entire episode can be spent with Timmy worrying about his father realizing how he screwed up a wish#focus on him fixing his mess#and then his dad comes back to a clean house and the episode ends there#that’s where early fairly odd parents succeed and Hazbin falls flat

Well I like it but it’s not very well written. Also it’s a visual mess. The plot doesnt make any sense and the creators suck and its politics oscillate from mildly problematic to frankly baffling. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. However. the character

"I'm probably going to be cooked alive for this but some of y'all need to chill the fuck out in the crit community. As awful as Viv is, wishing death upon her and/or trying to armchair diagnose her with NPD ot lablelling her a narcissist is fucking awful to say the least. Not only are you not acting better like the stans you hate, you're actively engaging in hardcore ableism towards those with NPD and personality disorders in general. You're adding to the stigma that ppl with NPD/Narcissists are all (inherently) shitty people or shitty people because they're "narcissists". Trump has been labeled a narcissist, JKR has been labeled a narcissist, Viv has been labeled a narcissist. Do you not see a pattern here? There are a thousand other words to describe these people without resorting to this. The same goes for characters like Stolas or Stella. You cant be calling out Viv and her stans for awful behavior and then engage in it yourself.
- a tired anon with NPD"

Hello, my fellow HB critics! Guess what? I'm tired! I'm sick and tired of the Stolass' stans and their pathetic excuses they pull out of the ass to justify their owlboy's misdeeds. And the most annoying part? Usually it's all the same excuses that are parroted over, and over, and over again. It ain't funny anymore!
Therefore I've made this bingo!
So next time you'll face a Stolass' stan you'll be able to play this lil' silly game of mine. Hope you'll enjoy it!
Of course I couldn't place all the existing excuses right here (there are too many of those cuz- we're talking about Stolass so iykyk). Thus I've selected the most common of all. But maybe I should do the full list one day. Who knows...

So this couple is completely acceptable and nobody bats an eye at em
This couple gets a little heat but otherwise they’re ok
But this couple is socially unacceptable and forbidden yaoi????
Stolass and blitz are literally closer in rank than the other two couples this makes no fucking sense. I know there’s a difference (stolass is literally married) but barely anybody even gives a shit that he’s cheating??? They’re all just hung up on blitz being an imp??? Even his wife only really cares about the imp thing??? I hate this fucking show. Viv can’t seem to even remember her own social rules.

Miss the evil duo of Ozzie and Fizz from the OZZIE'S. Like good golly they were tricky and straightforward and sarcastic and SASSY. On top of that, Ozzie sang about how the Moxxie's love song is basically sh!t and damn, that's hard, but MAN it was good. Ozzie felt like a lust Lord and not an uwu big daddy to Fizz. They both had their evil whimsy which was stolen from us because Vivzie likes making pairings with uwu softies and their alphas.
I'd prefer them to stay as evil as they were. Maybe Fizz would've changed due to his connection to Blitz but Ozzie should've stayed the same. He had sass, he had ass, and he was groovy as hell. And he wasn't going to look at cutsie wootsy Moxxie's singing because he's THE LUST.
Love to point out things I've missed when I've watched this melodrama in the first place. I've forgotten the season one all together because of the sh!t that happened in the second one...

There are genuine times when I truly forget DHORKS, Cherubs, Crimson, Stella, Andreaplus, and Mammon are supposed to be villains/antagonists against IMP.

Vivziepop confirming St. Peter (a man who loved and valued his wife) to be gay honestly feels like misogyny and pinkwashing to me. Not only do they whitewash this man, they also kick his wife out of the picture for cheap gay representation. Viv found a way to disappoint gay men, women, and Christians all at the same time.
I know Hazbin Peter feels like a gay stereotype but I’m going to wait because from what I’ve seen, Vivziepop technically hasn’t confirmed his sexuality.
But I wouldn’t be surprised if he was gay, bisexual, or pansexual. He does moan a lot in the song “Welcome to Heaven” and says everyone is hot.
#I feel like we should make the ones who had wives in the Bible still love women#whether that’s straight bi pan omni or anything else you can think of

Etradio: Yeah, the Heaven/Hell conflict felt like it should’ve been stretched out through the seasons if that’s what they wanted. Although that viewpoint kinda nullifies the original premise of the show. “Can a sinner be redeemed and go to Heaven?” “Well, Heaven is actually super corrupt— so why go there?” It just feels like everything about the original goal was for nothing. Rather than address anything about the question of the show, they say the question doesn’t matter. I think since the series was in production for so long, and had a fanbase following it that knew the premise- the writers might’ve been worried that the show would be too ‘predictable’ and boring if they stuck to the original premise. So they felt the need to escalate to try to go beyond the expectations of the fans, but it resulted in a… I’m not sure how to describe it, but the plot is just doing whatever it wants. It’s hard to articulate my thoughts on this, but I hope that makes sense.
... Oh my fucking god.
This person literally highlighted the main problem with this show and why I've been feeling like the original premise was second fiddle.
And I think I know what their trying to say. It resulted in an entirely different show than what was promised to us, so in their efforts to not be predictable, they literally changed everything. Which that could also explain the rushed pacing, the rushed storylines...
It was not what was promised to us.
And the thing is unpredictability does not always equal good, what matters most is the journey getting to it and how it's executed. Even if a plot is predictable it can still tell a good story if the characters are likable and the world they live in is engaging enough for the viewers to get into it.
Hazbin Hotel does not have that sadly, as they think subverting expectations would be more than enough to keep viewers invested and wanting more even if it doesn't make sense or fit in the story.

The worst part is that Blitz is quite literally dyslexic, meaning (depending on how you view the r-slur/who can reclaim it) he absolutely COULD have properly reclaimed it. But noooo, it had to be directed at two disabled characters…
"For a show that is praised to have “good disabled rep” mainly because of Fizzarolli and a scene he shares with a young deaf kid where they both use sign language to communicate, Helluva Boss seems to simultaneously use disabled characters as punchlines and thinks using slurs like the r-slur is funny. Like the bellhop guy in Ghostf*ckers being called a "thing" with Blitzo and Millie looking at him in disgust. And Moxxie, a character many consider to be autistic coded, generally being the show's punching bag (being called slow, being fatshamed, getting SA'd for laughs, etc). And the two times the r-slur were used were directed at Moxxie and the receptionist in Western Energy who immediately before almost getting called it says that she can't spell or read. I know in that last scene Blitzo doesn't actually end up saying it and cuts himself off, but still... And funny how people say the scene where Blitzo cuts himself off from saying the slur is the crew "learning from the pilot about not using offensive slurs like that", when they literally went on to make a slurs shirt as official merch for the show. :/"

"Striker should've gouge out at least one of Stolas' eyes. Not only because the prick totally deserves it but also because it would've been interesting to have the event leave visible impact on Stolas. In the show it's easy to forget that the attack even happened since the only thing that reminds us after "Western energy" is bandage on Stolas' arm. But other than that it isn't even talked about until "Apology tour" (and bringing it up there only made Stolas look more selfish). And seeing characters like Octavia and Blitzø react on Stolas' missing eye would've been so tragically cool!"

YES!!! Being able to see stuff like Alastor’s backstory with Vox and how Angel met Val before signing the contract, these things would’ve solidified them as villains and given us more backstory on our main cast! BUT OF COURSE NOT!! No, Adam dies in season freaking 1 instead of them trying to make heaven the big bad and actual threat. Of course :/
"The Vees are such non-entities as villains, the fact that they’re being announced as the villains for season two is laughable. Like, they should’ve been the villains for season one instead. Slowly but surely build up to extermination day over the course of two seasons and poof. You’ve successfully worked around having eight episodes instead of twelve (probably because you blew the budget on getting big-name Broadway actors)."
