Obviously Sirius would focus on his friendship with James for Harry's benefit, but that doesn't mean he loved James more than Remus. With that conversation he had with Harry, he wasn't saying "I LOVED JAMES SO MUCH, WAY MORE THAN REMUS," he was saying, "Look, I loved your dad a lot and he meant so much to me." That's all.

Exactly. Yes, James was his best friend, his brother, but the way this fandom sees/talks about their friendship and how they act like Remus and Peter weren’t important is so fucking annoying. This whole Sirius being “James James JAMES!!!!!!!!! MY PRECIOUS JAMES ONLY JAMES OMG” is completely fanon. I don’t remember him being like that in the books, and I don’t think JKR ever said that Sirius loved James more than anyone else. In fact, when she talked about Sirius’: “You should have died rather than betray your friends”, her words were: “those three people that he loved beyond any others, because, like Harry, he is a displaced person without a family”. 

Remus and Peter were his best friends, too, they were important to him, he loved them and would have given his life to protect them.
