UHT MILK PLANT IN MAURITANIA
Mauritania, a country in Northwest Africa, whose economy is still largely based on the agro and livestock sector reclaimed a massive portion of economic independence for its people through the installation of a UHT milk plant.
Ultra-Heat-Treatment or UHT, is a process wherein milk is heated at 135-150 degrees Celsius for only two seconds in order to kill any prevalent bacteria in the milk and increase its longevity and shelf life.
The Challenge: The aim of the Mauritania government was to reduce its dependence on imported UHT Milk. To successfully achieve which; a dynamic supply-demand chain for deliverables, with a main production unit had to be set up. The design, supply and construction of this essential service was entrusted to Jaguar Overseas Limited- JOL
 The Outline
A modern, state of the art, fully equipped UHT milk plant at the provincial capital of Nema. With an addition of three milk collection centers on turnkey basis. The objective was to bring down the cost of UHT milk through local treatment, whilst ensuring optimum utilization of locally procured fresh (or raw) milk.
 JOL’s Scope
With their work cut out for them, Jaguar Overseas endeavored to complete this project in record time, so as to enable Mauritania to reap its benefits as soon as possible. On top of Jaguar Overseas’s to-do list was:
To create a contemporary central processing unit, wherein manufacturing and packaging of Pasteurized Milk, Curdled milk, Yoghurt, butter and the all important UHT milk, would take place. This plant had to include:
●        Power substation
●        Transformer
●        DG sets
●        LT panels
●        Refrigeration Plant
●        Boiler
●        Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP)
●        Staff Quarters
To ensure that the plant delivered meets the highest standards that met client’s expectations and JOL’s promise; the main plant and machinery for the UHT sterilizer and the aseptic packing machinery were bought in from Europe. Whereas the remaining machinery and pre-engineering building structures were hauled in from India. The fully functional and highly productive, world class project saw fulfilment and handover in February 2017, and since then has been run and managed under the control of the Mauritania Government.
The Challenges Overcome:
To traverse a path that hasn’t been mapped is perhaps the most difficult of all tasks. For the Mauritania UHT Milk Plant Project that meant not only creating the infrastructure, but also educating the people on it, in tandem. The other technical challenges Jaguar Overseas faced included:
1.      Management of Logistics- the plant was constructed 1200kms from the capital of Nouakchott, in Nema, which at the time did not possess any credible infrastructure.
2.      The collection centers were located in regions with barely any construction power or even drinking water.
3.      The low rainfall accompanied by perineal high atmospheric temperatures, that impeded upon everyday labor productivity.
Despite these hurdles, the UHT Plant saw successful construction and implementation amongst the local population; true to JOL’s word.
 In Conclusion
The able team, spearheaded by; Mr. Manas Agarwal were able to surpass the expectation of all the elated stakeholders along with the Federal and Provincial Governments. However JOL’s true victory is conveyed by the following:
●        The rural masses are now empowered with the know how and the proper infrastructure to sell their milk, with reduced dependency on imports.
●        Enhanced employment opportunities in both technical and non-technical aspects have benefited every strata of the economy by increasing direct and indirect employment.
Today, the local population is claiming ownership and management of the project, verifying its success and validating all of Jaguar Overseas Limited’s earnest efforts.

Distribution Line in Afghanistan
Afghanistan, a nation in Central Asia, has been ravaged by war and conflict for decades. Whilst still in the preliminary stages of development, Afghanistan faced multiple challenges in reconstructing its power grids and nexus. Mr. Manas Agarwal, Jaguar Overseas Limited under his leadership the company took up the given responsibility to work on power lines. It is found that only 36 % of its population had access to electricity, which in comparison to the rest of the world, is drastically low and put Afghanistan in the bottom rung of the order.
Furthermore, more than 85% of the country’s energy needs were met traditional fuels and a staggering 80% of the rural population depended directly on burning wood, crop residue and kerosene, as their main source of power. This, apart from being very unsustainable was also highly detrimental to the environment and resultantly severely damaged the air quality and average human health of the region.
The Challenge
The government, in an attempt to resolve and mitigate these incessant problems, initiated a new power infrastructure development project in the region of southern Kabul, the capital city of Afghanistan. Jaguar Overseas Limited was chosen to construct these all-important power lines and aid the development of the nation.
The Outline
The scope of the project included promoting a power distribution network in the Logar Province.
Financially backed by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the project for power distribution in the capital city of the Logar Province, that is Pul-E-Alam; was installed under the Energy Sector Development Investment Program (ESDIP). Its execution was supervised by the national utility company Da Afghanistan BreshnaSherkat (DABS).
The massive project included the construction and installation of electric poles amongst other technical infrastructural facilities over an area of 4,500sq km in the city of Pul-E –Alam. With four main feeder units:
FEEDER 1- Kolangar
FEEDER 2- Baboos
FEEDER 3- Padkhwab Shana
FEEDER 4- HoniSyedanDoshanbi.
JOL’s Scope:
The herculean undertaking was by no means a small feat to accomplish but fell right in Jaguar Overseas’s area of expertise. In order for Afghanistan to kick-start its journey on the trajectory of development, and in accordance with the briefs given; JOL started out the project.
They began with conducting extensive ground surveys and research to diagnose the most optimal routes for the implementation of infrastructure and electrical equipment. Then they moved on to design the electric poles and requisite structures as per future load conditions.
Eight independent and well-equipped teams were appointed to carry out the demining of the area, where the following would be provided:
8,000 electric poles
20 KV conductors for an area of 278km in Pul-e-Alam
Installation of 143 transformers
Energy meters
Distribution panels
Cables, wires and other imperative fittings
All this with successful implementation and handover, was completed by Jaguar Overseas Limited under a highly impressive 1103 days.
The Challenges Overcome:
All projects come with challenges of their own, which can be overcome only with vast and accurate research of the land and its history. Afghanistan was no different, however, Jaguar Overseas Limited, persisted to deliver the highest standards of quality. Some of the challenges they faced were:
Afghanistan has a vivid and devastating history of conflict and war, due to which the foremost challenge came in the form of demining the area, as there were hidden explosives, underground that posed a threat to the safety of the workers.
The project limited area access and did not allow access to any privately owned land. This posed great limitations to the designs of the power network and threatened conflict with the locals as well.
There was no manufacturing facility in the nearby areas for the production of the 8,000 concrete spun poles. To combat this issue Jaguar Overseas established a manufacturing unit to ensure the uninterrupted supply of quality materials.
Afghanistan terrain, proved to be a brutal logistical challenge as well, which was highly taxing in terms of safe transaction and implementation of electrical equipment.
To complete the project by time, the team had to work, round the clock in severe weather conditions that went as low as -15 degrees.
Despite these daunting circumstances, Jaguar Overseas delivered upon exemplary standards for the benefit of all.
The Benefits of the Project:
The extremely crucial project had multi-faceted benefits for the Government of Afghanistan and its people:
To begin with, thousands of locals finally got access to and were educated on electricity and power distribution, which reduce their dependence on the damaging diesel generators and other traditional fuels.
The creation of a whole local logistical ecosystem, gave employment opportunities to the locals.
All this added dramatically to the local economic prosperity and ensured a 100% availability of a quality-driven, dependable power network.
Conclusion:
The project came with multiple challenges, but the Jaguar Overseas team, under the leadership of Mr. Manas Agarwal, saw it as an opportunity to learn something new and persevere to deliver upon (and even surpass) their expected standards.

The Indo-Zambian Projects Led by Jaguar Overseas Limited
The Backdrop of Zambia
Zambia a landlocked nation in Southern Africa, has been grappling with issues pertaining to its public health. In this developing nation, according to WHO, the frequent pandemics were a direct consequence of poor environmental sanitization. Nearly 80% of the public diseases were due to environmental hygiene being compromised- for example, food and water-borne diseases including cholera, dysentery and typhoid. Jaguar Overseas Limited under the leadership of Mr. Manas Agarwal became the solution provider of Zambia.
To remedy this situation, the Zambian government, initiated the Zambia Health Policy in 1992, that primarily focused on providing cost and quality effective healthcare to the rural population. The policy became operational in 1995 with the Health Service act.
Solution Provider
Jaguar Overseas Limited is a New Delhi headquartered firm specializing in project Exports, construction, engineering and supply projects that span globally. The ISO certified company promises to deliver upon exemplary international standards with utmost transparency.
In 2013, Jaguar Overseas Limited headed the $19.47 million USD project of constructing 208 health posts in Zambia and executed it flawlessly. However, there was a long way to go, for Zambia to mitigate the public health problems afflicting the nation…
KC Mulalelo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Zambia Government, said, “Zambia is facing a healthcare crisis owing to poor environmental sanitation. There is a high prevalence of both communicable and non-communicable diseases. We are happy to once again partner with Jaguar Overseas to help us re-structure our healthcare facilities and work towards improving the overall health of the people of Zambia. The construction of new health posts will ensure timely medication and world-class healthcare infrastructure to reduce infant and maternal mortality rates in the country.”
JOL continued to then bag the second project of constructing 201 health posts in the North-Western, Northern, Muchinga and Luapula provinces of Zambia. The project was jointly funded by the Government of India and that of Zambia and was worth a total of $15.25 million USD.
As per the guidelines of the project, quality-driven health posts needed to be constructed and operational in rural regions with a distance of 50 km between every health post. With each unit being well equipped and inclusive of a staff quarter and a solar lighting system as well. The construction was ordained to be with concrete foundations; steel columns and structures and supplementing concrete wall panels. Thus creating accessible and economical medical aid provisions in all the 10 provinces in Zambia.
“We are excited to resume our operations in Zambia and are extremely thankful to both the Indian and Zambian governments for supporting this noble cause. This highly prestigious project is a clear ratification of the enthusiasm, dedication, professionalism, and quality of services that we bring on board to develop African nations. We are grateful to have got this opportunity second time, to offer our best services to the people of Zambia to serve and support the country’s affected healthcare sector. We truly believe that healthy people can effectively contribute to the process of empowering a nation, and it is our honor and privilege to be a part of this journey.” said a company executive whilst speaking about the initiation of the second project post the success of the first.
A majority of the healthcare facilities in Zambia are owned and managed by the public sector which is further augmented by private healthcare companies. A special mobile health service called Zambia’s Flying Doctors’ Service has also been activated to provide aid in remote locales.
Conclusion:
JOL endeavored to fulfill the mammoth task in record time, despite the multiple logistic and material supply challenges they faced in Zambia. They even won critical acclaim from officials high up in the Zambian government like Zambia’s High Commissioner to India, Her Excellency Judith Kapijimpanga, who congratulated them on the quality of the project delivered.
Jaguar Overseas Limited’s team under the expert and abled leadership of Mr. Manas Agarwal delivered excellence for the benefit of the Government and the people of Zambia. Hoping to improve the lives of millions.

NEPAL’S TRANSMISSION LINES
Nepal, a landlocked nation in Southern Asia, that flanks the Northern border of India- is still exploring the budding stages of development. Home to the largest mountain range in the world, the Himalayas, the terrain there is very mountainous and difficult to traverse and build upon. The key to development lies in extracting energy optimally from the resources available. For Nepal, a country that has no oil, gas, or coal deposits; water is an abundantly available natural resource that can be used to generate profitable hydropower. Jaguar Overseas team, under Mr. Manas Agarwal’s leadership took up the project to execute it with perfection The Challenge Under the Kabeli Power Generation Project, initiated by the government’s; Nepal Electric Authority (NEA), the Kabeli Corridor 132KV Transmission Line Project (KCTLP) was commenced.  Entrusted with the responsibility to construct and develop these lines was Jaguar Overseas Limited. The Outline There are 17 HydroElectric Power stations in Illam District, 4 in Panchthar District and 14 Projects in Taplejung area that had the license to produce power but were debilitated by the lack of transmission lines to do so. The Kabeli Corridor Transmission line project that was a part of the Integrated Nepal Power System (INPS) project, was established to address this very problem and establish a system to extract power from Hydroelectric Power Producers in the high altitude regions. The 132KV Transmission Line Project was divided into 4 parts:
Package A : Damak S/s to Godak S/s 34.5 Kms
Package B : Godak S/s to Phidim S/s 42.6 Kms
Package C : Phidim S/s to Amarpur S/s 13.3 Kms
Package D : Duhabi S/s to Anarmani S/s 75.8 Kms
JOL’s Scope The first step in the journey to build impeccable state of the art transmission lines was to carry out extensive ground survey in order to identify the ideal route for the lines to be developed. Next came the design, construction and establishment of towers with wide range and varied (sometimes unequal) leg extensions, that would cause least possible damage to its natural surroundings. For the towers in the streams, pile foundations were designed and built; so as to avert damage from flash floods and in fact ensuring workability even during floods. Thereafter was the building of a whole logistical ecosystem that included local supply partners and a comprehensive road network to access sites easily. Relationships were developed with locals to make the project move faster. They were also educated on the myths surrounding UHV transmissions and were also given employment in the project. Jaguar Overseas Limited went above and beyond in their community service outreach to make the project an absolute success for the Government and its people. Furthermore, advanced Drone technologies were used to map and gain access over the remote regions where towers needed to be installed. Even after the project saw successful completion, Jaguar Overseas continued their work and looked into the maintenance of a robust and dependable Transmission Line network with 100% availability.
Challenges Faced The project was completed surpassing the expectations of the stakeholders, within an impressive 980 days. But this was no mean feat, it came with its own set of challenges:
The     substations which were located at 3,000 metres above sea level and higher     altitudes were difficult to access and to develop interconnections with     other substations.
Logistics     in the mountainous terrain is     particularly difficult.
The     Himalayan region is home to protected wildlife and forest reverses, which     needs factoring in and is difficult to work around.
The     locals who were at the time fed misinformation about the adverse effects of UHV transmission, often     objected to development and construction.
Despite these obstacles, Jaguar Overseas Limited, endeavoured to complete the project in record time whilst delivering world class technology and infrastructure for the benefit of all involved.
Benefits of the Project This integral development project provided the INPS, with a truly well integrated network with independent power producers:
●       Holistic development of the economy and its local people was visible to all
●       The line transmits peak power of 110 MW, thus avoiding spiralling load shedding in the valley area, where industrial power consumption is increasing gradually.
●       Due to availability of this transmission corridor, there are new licenses requested by individual power producers in Northern Nepal trying to explore the untapped energy source, namely hydropower from small streams!
In Conclusion
The Jaguar Overseas team, under Mr. Manas Agarwal’s leadership has executed the project with utmost perfection. Using state of the art technology to achieve all the stated and underlining objectives, whilst respecting local sentiment and protecting the natural beauty of the location. The positive benefits reaped by the Government, its economy and its people are great motivators for future endeavours of this great nation.
