Metal Charming: Collaboration with the very dear @thosebizzareserpents

It’s an amazing idea she dreamed up! From her site:

Metal-Charmers are responsible for imbuing metalcraft with certain magical properties via charms. Metal Charmers work their metal in such a way where their metal in such a where the magic infused in them remain even after post-mortem... Most commonly metal charmers take on “charmer names” or sobriquets when working.

While her original post focuses on famous Charmers, she told me about MetalMania, a no-holds-barred Charming Championship where metal charmers get together and RUMBLE. Basically wizard WWE. So here we go...

Albus Potter & Astoria Greengrass set to clash in MetalMania Semifinals 

Albus Potter (known as A.S.A.P. in the MetalMania world) and Astoria Greengrass (a.k.a. Eudoxia Verde) have beaten their quarterfinal opponents and are set to clash at Finnich Stadium on 12th May 2029 in what will surely be a smashing match--pun intended.

Trained by Kaneshiro Hirakata, Potter is known for his flashy, fox-like style in the ring, preferring to charm quick but intricate traps that many opponents have struggled with. Having debuted a mere three years ago, some are already saying that he is changing the way the games are played.

On the other hand, Greengrass trained under Mrunali Saxena, and it shows. The charms bursting rapid-fire from her wand tend toward the colossal--most famously in the 2021 Finals, where, instead of outmanoeuvring Marion Wright in the classical style, she literally flattened his structures and pinned him into submission with four massive iron blocks.

hello! are you still around?

I hope to come back soon! To everyone who is somehow still following this blog: sorry for all the fits and starts, I know I've said before that I'd be posting again but then didn't. To cut a long story short, I was ill, so ill that I had to leave my job. I took awhile to recover, and over a year later, I now also have a baby 😂 As my illness is chronic, I am unable to do very much beyond caring for bub.

However I very much miss making fun things with all the wonderful requests and suggestions this community has given me. I also really need some me time to do non-baby related stuff. So hopefully -- not guaranteed, but hopefully -- soon!

Perhaps you all could help me by sending some requests my way, preferably original generation, canon-ish stuff for now, so that I don't have to expand extra energy on research 😎

Hello ! I'm new here and I was wondering if the items you display on this page are real and for sale ? If yes, what is written inside the houses' books (like "Ravenclaw : a history) ? And at last, what (app, computer, software) do you use to design those beautiful objects ?

Hello and welcome! :) The House stationery sets aren’t ready for sale yet, but I’ve been working on making them a reality. It’s taken longer than expected due to a severe health crisis, but I hope you guys will find it worth the wait!I use Illustrator and Photoshop. 💻 And people come up with really great requests.

Do you ship any characters? If so, which ones?

I shipped Romione before I even knew what a ship was — when I first read the books, I was 9 and no character made me laugh as much as Ron, while Hermione reminded me of Matilda, my favourite fictional character back then. So on some level I always wanted them to be together. Then when I got older I thought that their strengths complemented each other very well: Hermione’s thirst for knowledge and Ron’s strategic thinking. Yet they are fundamentally quite similar, in that both are intensely loyal and more interested in doing the right thing than doing things the right way. I also ship Hinny for the Sass ™ and Lupin x Happiness

Knight Bus revamped, recommissioned

Knight Bus up and running again

Notorious stomach-churner and conveyance of last resort, the Knight Bus, has been revamped and recommissioned. The original vehicle was impounded and scrapped by the Ministry of Transport after the war, after it failed inspection with two hundred and sixty two safety violations.

However, cognisant of the need for alternatives to broomstick and Floo-based transportation, the Ministry has launched a new fleet of Knight Buses. These have been charmed with Gravity Stabilisation Spells which prevent liquids from spilling, as well as a host of other safety spells and measures that are inspected monthly. The new Knight Bus is also able to travel underwater, thanks to a powerful cocktail of Anti-Leakage, Pressure Regulation, and Weight Redistribution spells. 

The only drawback? Fares have been adjusted for postwar inflation, so while a ticket from Surrey to London might have cost 11 sickles back in the 1990s, the base fare for such a trip would now cost 15 sickles, the cost of about 3 teas or 2 coffees. 

Although one might bemoan the fare hike, at least concessions are now available for students, the differently abled, and the elderly.

Can I ask why in the hogwarts welcome books, the notebooks of Slytherin, Gryffindor and Hufflepuff have their respecting Classes on the front, potions, DADA, and herbology, but raven claw has ancient runes instead of charms? Is it because the class is just because of the teacher and Clearwater teaches ancient runes instead of charms? Sorry if this ask doesn’t make sense. Also this is not a hate on the posts I adore them!!
